PT. 13

Oh geez not this guy again. Why can't I just sleep.


Jake finally gets my window all the way open and my immediate reaction is to throw a pillow at him, which almost makes him lose his grip and fall. But he doesn't. Damn.


"Go away or I"m going to have Zayden kick your ass." I whisper loudly. " I mean it I'm gonna........" my voice dies away as soon as I get a good look at his face. My anger defuses and turns to sympathy, "Oh my goodness Jake! Is that what Zayden did?!" I ask in horror.


"Uh yeah the guys got one heck of a right hook," he laughs. I reach up and touch the bruise on his cheek. He leans into my hand. The scene is like something straight out of a sappy romance it almost makes me wanna gag.


"Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, WHOA! No I'm not going to feel bad for you." I pull my hand away abruptly, "I'm pissed at you. I don't care that you already apologized, what you did was still wrong. Way wrong. And you deserve everyone of those bruises."


A pained look crosses his face. "Willow, I'm so, so sorry, honest and for-truly. I'm beside myself with grief at the thought of you hating me." OK now I really do want to gag, this is so sappy it almost makes me want to forgive him. Almost.

"Jake, seriously? Do you think a sappy apology is going to make everything better?"


"Well a guy can hope can't he?"


"No, he can't." came a deep familiar voice from behind me.


I whipped around to face a very grumpy looking Zayden. "Well hello sweet cheeks, do you have my room like bugged or something. There's no way you could have heard us from up there."


"Oh con tr-er little filly, air vents are a wondrous thing."


"Oh"


"And as for you, you better turn around and jump your ass back out that window before I throw you out."


"Zayden come on man your not going to ruin our friendship over some girl, are you?"


"Excuse me, some girl?" I whip back around to face Jake. "I thought you couldn't stand the thought of me hating you." I reply mockingly.


"She's not some girl. She's my sister, and my girlfriend." The speed at which I turned to face Zayden almost gave me whiplash. OK I can pick out several things wrong with what he just said but I was so deliriously happy I didn't care how it sounded.
