Sage, Jasmyne Wiechen

Prologue
What If you could never live in one place for a certain amount of time, what if you had a gift that made you special, made people want to come and find you.
What if. Now that's the question. My mother has been on the run since she found out, and now she has to hide me also. I have three names, Jasmyne Burk, Jasmyne Ellington, and the most recent, Jasmyne Wiechen, pronounced Wiccan, my mom had me when she was just starting to control it, but her stability passed when she gave birth to me. Causing a flash in her powers, all the doctors flew back at it, and I was almost killed, I will always have a scar from it, on the back of my leg. Only a powerful Psychic could do something like that. And my mom was. Amazingly so, so good she was on the run from Morganna, a cursed name in our family, we usually just pretend that she is just a myth, a legend, but she's not she hunts for people, people like my family, people like me
You can call what we do a gift, but I don't think that's the right word, I think it is more a responsibility, because a gift you can take back, and trust me those times come. When I was Jasmyne Burk I had no idea. No idea of the danger, that just manipulating the kids in front of me in line to go on the slide first was deathly. I didn't know that we could be traced, when we use our powers it gives off a signal and travels for miles and miles to the next Reader, that is what we call ourselves, there are about six readers well known in my family, and I'm one of those six. But so is Morganna, she was born in 1979, two years after my mother exactly, both their birthday's are on March twenty-fifth. Well anyway Morganna knew that I had been born she felt the shockwave of another Eikleberry, being born, my Grandma Eikleberry was the very first, and she kept all her secrets in a journal all her dreams all her thoughts, and they usually came true, her word was taken seriously and if she warned you about something then you listened.
When that signal reached her she raced to the elementary school and kidnapped me from the playground. I screamed and kicked but it was like no one could hear me. Like they didn't see the blonde eight year old, being dragged away by a spiky black haired witch with pale white skin and dark eyeliner, she was very pretty, but under the circumstances I could really care less, I cried for anyone to hear me, putting out signals everywhere in Tucson, Arizona. Then grandma felt the tremble in the air and my voice, screaming filled her ears. My mother experienced it only a second later she wasn't as in tune with it as Grandma was, and they both walked out the door to meet Morganna. She was standing there holding me with firm hands, and I was too shaken to try anything.
"How did you find us?" my mother asked as soon as she stepped outside.
"Ha, you must be kidding this child put out a two miles radius. She seems more powerful than you. And yet she knows nothing." Morganna Sneered, her red lips curving upward at the last word as if it was funny, I was starting to get angry, they were talking riddles. Some witch stole me. And my grandma was just standing there with her mouth gaping wide open, as if she could not believe her eyes. Then I felt a horrible pain in my head so sharp that it brought me to my knees, and Morganna's voice filled my head though she did not speak.
"Stay in your own head little one, you've no idea what trouble you could get into." The voice was too loud. On the ground I screamed, then everything went black. That last thing I heard was the witch's laugh, a high-pitched sound that could bring on goose bumps.
Something wet touched my head, it was cold, and I could smell a rich rosemary type smell, like burning incense, the smell was so delicious, so addicting that it made my mouth water.
"Mom she's waking up, I think that Sage is working." My mothers voice sounded far away, but relieved.
"Well of course it did honey what did you expect? I'm an expert, especially on first readers, she is very powerful for her age, and that is going to be a problem, we'll have to tell her, or else when we move again Morganna will find us, this is exactly what happened last time you can't keep doing this." Grandma's voice was wistful she sounded very sad.
"Mommy..." my voice cracked and went out again, I couldn't open my eyes something was blocking them from opening,
"Melynda, honey you have to tell her, before it's too late, maybe we can train her and she will be ok."
"I don't know, can we talk about it later? I still think that she is too young."

I actually really like this! The only problem I have with it is that it isn't cut up into paragraphs. If it was, it'd be easier to read. I'm reading your next one now.
