2.

I woke up to a loud knocking at my door, my eyes wide and my adrenaline pumping through my veins as I sat up in my bed and listened to the loud knocking. I looked towards Dobby who stared at the door with his ears back. “Oh my gosh, it’s happening.” I said quietly to myself as I immediately jumped from my bed and crawled underneath it.  “I’m going to be taken hostage by the daleks!”  Dobby jumped from the bed and walked slowly out of room and towards the living room where the knocking was still occurring, “Dobby! You come back here!” I hissed quietly at him as he stood staring at the door.

“Damn that cat.” I cursed to myself as I rolled out from under my bed and walked out of my room dressed in my pink and fuzzy footie pajamas. “Dobby get back in the room.” I whispered to my cat as I neared my kitchen and grabbed a frying pan. “Maybe I should call the police…” I said to myself as I grabbed the phone in the other hand, I dialed 999 and kept my hand close to the call button. “Okay, do not panic Rowan. You are an adult, a mature adult that can handle a knock at five o’ clock in the morning. Heck it could just the mailman or something.”

Dobby meowed up at me as I frowned down at me, “Yes I know it could be a serial rapist, you don’t need to point out the obvious Dobby.” I breathed in a deep air as I approached the peephole and then stopped. “What am I crazy? I’ve seen enough scary movies to know not to look through the peephole, and then there goes my eye.”

I stood in front of my door, and finally realized that there wasn’t anymore knocking. I quirked up my eyebrow in surprise. “Hello?” I called out to whoever was outside my door, “If you’re trying to sell me anything, I’m not interested! I mean… we’re not interested, my body builder boyfriend and I, who is also in the marines and has three gold medals for fighting people!”

There was silence in response until I heard a loud crash coming from my room; I immediately turned around gripping the frying pan firmly and pressing the call button on the phone. I listened to the phone ring as I slowly crept towards my room, trying not to make much noise, but my floorboards were old and creaky. “This is the 999 Emergency Service, state your emergency.” I heard the operators voice enter through my ears as if it gave me some sort of relief.

“Hello, yeah um I think there might be someone breaking into my apartment.” I replied quietly as I crept closer to my room, I looked inside to see my table with a couple of plates had fallen over. My eyes widened.

“Miss are you sure?”

“Holy shit, the windows open! I didn’t leave the window open!” I whispered frantically as I looked at the window, it was cracked wide open next to my table.

“Miss you need to calm down, do you see anybody in the flat?” The lady responded to my in her British accent as I immediately backed up and started to walk towards my door.

“No! But I’m out of here! I know what happens to girls like alone in an apartment with an intruder!” I yelled as I picked up Dobby in one arm as I bolted for the door, I quickly opened it and my eyes widened.

“Hello love,” a tall man with fiery red hair stood in front of my door with a no-care-in-the-world smile. Naturally I did anything a sane person would do, I attempted to hit him in the face with my frying pan, and sadly he ducked. “Bloody hell!”
