I was sleeping soundly in m bed when I heard a sound on my window. I groaned as realization had it me. How can anyone be awake at this time of the day? I stood up and went to my window; sure enough Cedric was there at the other side, leaning against the frame of his bedroom's window, grinning at me.
"Good morning, sunshine." He laughed.
I glared at him. "The sun isn't even up yet. What are you doing awake..." I looked at my watch. "-at 4am? And more importantly, why are you waking me up at 4am?" I exclaimed.
He just laughed more at my expression. "Well, I have a breakfast date with a beautiful girl and I wanna start the day early. Is that so bad?" He smirked.
I gaped at him. "Yes! Especially if that girl is me and if it is 4 in the morning." Despite my glaring, he just grinned at me. "Just get dressed, Katie, you're awake now anyways, might as well get productive. I'll be over in 30 minutes and you better be dressed and outside." He winked and closed his window, leaving me grumbling to myself.
What could that boy possibly have planned for us at 4 in the morning? I wondered.
I showered and got dressed in my faded shorts and my light blue button down shirt. I debated on whether to wear slippers or my flat sandals. In the end, I just shrugged and slipped on my sandals and rushed downstairs. I opened the door and was surprised to see a bouquet made up of purple lilacs, bellflowers, a pink and red carnation, an orchid and a forget-me-not flower. But what surprised me most, was that there wasn't a single rose in the bouquet. I took the bouquet and laughed quietly.
"Cedric, what is all this?" I smiled and looked up at his face. He was dressed in a checkered shirt and his usual jeans and shoes.
He just shrugged and smiled at me. "I guess I just got tired of giving you roses and I thought 'what the heck?' I guess I just wanted to do something different."
I blushed and kissed his cheek. "So where to, Sally Sunshine?" I joked.
He snorted and led me to his car. He opened the door for me like the gentleman he is and when I got inside he rushed to his side and got in.
"Well?" He just looked at me and smirked then started driving. "Well what?"
I looked at him and sighed. "You're not gonna tell me where we're going are you?" He chuckled and shook his head. "Nope."
"Figures." I muttered and chuckled softly. "You know what? Their right." I noticed him raise an eyebrow. "Right about what?" he asked.
I smirked. "Princes are a real pain in the butt." He laughed.
I looked out of my window and noticed we were already in the valley. "Umm, Cedric what are we doing here?"
"We're going on our date." Just then he parked at the clearing. He got out of his side of the car and opened my door and I got out. He went to the trunk of his car and pulled out a stereo and picnic basket.
"You sure do like picnics, don't you Henderson? This is the third date we had that we did a picnic." I laughed.
"Well you can't beat the classics. Besides, most dates nowadays are just going to movies, going shopping or eating at the restaurant. I just wanted to make our dates more meaningful and special." He blushed and looked at his feet.
Awww, could he get any more perfect? I smiled and kissed him. "I love our dates; I wouldn't change them for the world." He looked up and smiled at him and pulled me into a warm embrace.
"C'mon let's go or we might miss the show." He smirked. I shot him a confused look. "What show?"
"Just wait and see." He winked; he grabbed my hand and started walking. I just shrugged and followed him. He stopped at a small clearing there weren't any trees or plants. It was just a vast space. He pulled out a blanket from the basket and laid it down on the ground and placed the player on the ground as well. He sat down and patted on the space next to him. I chuckled and sat down next to him. He took out a container containing; pancakes, sausages and took out a thermos.
"This is quite the buffet you made. I gotta say I'm impressed." I smirked as he handed me a plastic plate and utensils.
"Well you should be, I worked hard making this." He smirked back and I kissed his cheek.
"As much as I love picnics, I don't get why we had to get up at 4 in the morning just to have one." I said as I ate the pancakes he made. For a guy, he sure knows how to cook, I thought as I took another bite.
