"Miss, we're ready in 5 minutes," the event organizer said through my door suite.

I took a deep breath to relax myself. You can do this. You can do this. Just breathe and it'll be over soon, I kept saying to myself. But it wasn't working. I could hear my heartbeat pounding in my ears. My hands are starting to sweat. My eyes are going crazy.

Today is the 60th birthday of William Morris, chairman of the Wills Corporation, one of the most prominent businessmen in the entire world. Malls, hotels, bars, cruise ship, electronics, you name it, it's either the Wills Industries owns it or they own a handful of their stocks. His empire continue to rise by the minute and today, history in the making, it will soon become the number one most prominent company in the world.

Lucas Vanhoe, chairman of the Vanhoe Corporation, is also one of the most prominent businessmen in the world. He is the strongest competitor of the Wills Industries, always neck and neck with him in the stock exchange. But behind this rivalry in business matters, they are bound by a strong friendship. They are best friends since high school and together they built their empire from the ground. Their goal is to be one of the most successful business men in the world and when the time comes where they each bear a child, hopefully one is a boy and the other is a girl, they would combine their company in partnership through their children's marital bondage.

As of today, the goal for the success of their business is already achieved. The next step is the partnership. That's where my role begins.

I am the only daughter of Lucas Vanhoe. Apart from William Morris's birthday, this night holds another celebration - my engagement party with Dexter Morris, his only son.

I looked at the huge diamond ring in my finger and my heartbeat took off again. I closed my fist tight and willed myself to stop worrying. Tonight is perfect. Nothing will go wrong. I need to believe that. I closed my eyes to calm my nerves. I want this. This night should be a happy night. I am to celebrate my future bond with the love of my life. I should not be nervous.

Just like how my yoga instructor taught me, I turned my mind blank and counted my breathing. When I reached twenty, I opened my eyes and I was better, only a margin, but still I'm better.

I took another glance of myself in the full length mirror of my room. I am wearing a Marchesa gown. It's a fitted strapless, nude dress with crystal sequins all over it, hugging every curve in my body until it falls to the floor with a short frothy-like train. I have spent weeks in finding this dress after I saw it in the red carpet and I'm happy I get to wear it in this very special night. I hope my fiancé will be pleased. With Dexter, everything should be perfect.

I walked through the door and I wasn't surprise to see Alfonso, the household butler waiting for me outside my door. The party is being held in one of the houses of the Morris family in the Hamptons. It's a very secluded place, surrounded by a vast land of tress and a hill which turned out to be convenient to keep the media away. Only selected news publisher were invited in the event.

"Ready, Miss?" Alfonso asked, smiling with his arm extended towards me.

I nodded. "Let's go." He took my hand and placed it in the crook of his elbow. "Where's Dexter?"

"I believe Sir is waiting for you by the stairs," he replied.

I took another deep breath to calm myself. Oh god, why am I so nervous. Why do I have a gut feeling that something is wrong? No! I refuse myself to worry. I refuse myself to think about anything. I am only to be happy and that's what I'm going to do.

"Might I say, Miss. You look stunning tonight," Alfonso said. Yes, he has always been sweet to everyone. He is practically part of the Morris family and I have grown fond of him through the years I've been with Dexter.

"Thank you, Alfonso," I said, smiling. "Do you think Dexter would like it?"
