Hey, I have FINALLY uploaded chapter 5 of Fire Girl! Sorry if I am a bit slow, but I am just getting stuck with pointless homework and revision.
I hope you like this chapter! And remember, READ, VOTE AND COMMENT! I would like to hear your thoughts! Thanks xxxxxxxxxxx Tory123 Fire Girl Chapter 5 I went inside my house and started doing manic cleaning in the living room to distract myself. Dad was going to kill me. What should I do? Should I tell Will my secret? Or should I just pretend that I don't know what he's talking about? I threw down the air freshener in frustration and slumped onto the couch. I wanted to tell him, I wanted to share all of my deepest, darkest secrets. It would be nice to have someone that I didn't have to hide from, someone that I could act 'normal' with. But there was a small voice in the back of my head whispering "Dad would kill you. It's too risky. You hardly know him; you might not be able to trust him." I was brought out of my reverie with the familiar ring tone (Sex on Fire by Kings of Leon, the best song ever!) of my mobile. I looked at the caller ID and saw that it was Leo. "Hey Leo, I'm sorry I didn't call you..." "Where are you? I've been waiting outside of school for half an hour," he sounded really annoyed. "I'm sorry, I got ill and went home early and forgot to ring you," I lied. "Don't lie, you are a rubbish liar. Everyone is saying that you just ran out of science crying." "I was not crying!" I retorted. "Rosie, what's wrong?" he asked worriedly. "Nothing, it was just that bitch Beth was saying mean stuff about me and I got upset," I replied lamely. "Oh," he paused. "I'm sorry for getting angry at you." "It's fine," I mumbled. "Do you want me to come over? We don't have to go out if you're not in the mood." Oh crap, I completely forgot about that. I am the worst best friend ever. "No, I just want to be alone tonight. I need to clean this dump and get some homework done anyway," I lied again. "Oh, ok then," he said disappointedly. "Will see you tomorrow then." "Bye," I replied, but he'd already hung up. I was such a bad friend, lying about what I was really doing tonight. But if I told Leo about Will, I would have to tell him about why I was meeting him there. Overall, it was best if he didn't know anything about Will. I looked at my watch and saw that it was 4.00pm, so I decided to write my essay on Hitler's rise to power for history. I sat staring at the computer for an hour before deciding that I was too anxious about meeting Will to write a stupid essay. I went and tidied the living room, as there were still empty beer cans casually strewn around. I then checked the time again to see that it was 5.30pm and ran upstairs to brush my teeth and grab my coat. I grabbed a pen and scribbled a note to Dad telling him that I had gone out with Leo before nearly tripping out of the front door and walking to the park. There were butterflies in my stomach as I walked along the empty streets, and I still hadn't decided if I was going to tell Will the truth or not. I debated to myself for a while before stumbling upon St. Georges Park. I walked through the cold iron gates and walked across the frosty grass. Everything looked quite beautiful, considering that I hated the cold. The grass was covered with a thin white blanket of frost that crunched under my feet. The crooked tree branches had thin, sharp icicles dripping from them and the once green leaves now looked like pure white feathers. The park was completely vacant of loud, screaming children, which made it seem more like a calm, peaceful place to rest. The slide and jungle gym looked like a snow white sculpture with frost covering its rainbow colours. There was no sign of life, except from a tall, tanned boy with brown, windswept hair sitting on a frozen swing. His head was burrowed down into his coat so he didn't see me coming until he heard the crunch of frost under my feet. He looked up, smiled with his gleaming white teeth and motioned for me to sit on the swing next to him. By then I had made my decision. Just by seeing his face, I knew that I could trust him with my darkest secret. "Hey," I sat down on the creaky swing. "Hey," he smiled. "So... this is awkward." "Yeah, just a bit," I mumbled under by breath. "It seems that we both have secrets that we can't tell each other," he mused. "Yep. But the question is can we trust each other?" I looked into his green eyes, looking for an answer. It was silent for a moment, as we just looked into each other's eyes.
