Harry’s POV

“You’re going to get your ass in trouble,” Zayn snapped at me.

“She’s not a fucking liability! I’m supposed to be protecting her!” I defended.

“Protecting, not falling in love with,” He corrected.

“I’m not falling in love with her. She just has to believe that I am.”

That was such a lie.

I’ve never felt the way I do when I’m with her with anyone else. Zayn can’t know that though; none of them can. He just caught onto it quicker so I had to make him believe that nothing was actually going on between us even though I knew that there was.

I loved her, but around them I had to act like she was nothing more than a job assigned to me.

“Well you’re a pretty damn good actor.”

“You have to be to do this shit.”

“Does she know about Jason yet?”

I tensed at the mention of his name, “No and she doesn’t need to know as long as I can keep her away from him. She doesn’t like him anyway so it shouldn’t be hard.”

“Just keep her far away from him.”

“What’s your problem with her anyway?” I asked without thinking.

“Why do you care?”

“I don’t know. She doesn’t understand it and I think if I give her some answers she’ll trust me more.”

“I don’t particularly like her because she doesn’t deserve all this protection. She almost got you killed and almost got all of us killed as well. The agency was almost exposed and we almost got fired. Do you know what happens when you get fired?”

“They kill you.”

“Exactly. So no, I don’t like her.”

“Alright, well I’ve been gone for…fuck it’s been over two hours!”

“I’m sure she’s still down there.”

“If not it’s my ass.”

I hurried down the steps and into the kitchen to find Louis. I hate when Zayn talks about her like that. It wasn’t even really her fault; he just has to blame someone.

Louis was standing by the sink next to all the drinks, go figure.
