My friends and I had been standing in line for this ride forever! We didn't mind that much, though, considering the scenery. We were at the county fair and so were the three best players of the high school football team. They just happened to be behind us, laughing their asses off, to nothing in particular. I turned around and looked up at the ride we were waiting for. Nothing special. Just the Farris wheel. I turned back around and looked at my friends. Casey was fluffing her naturally bleach blonde hair and checking her reflection using her cell phone, as she had done many times before. While Lisa, the other blonde one, was busy worrying about her dad. He had recently been diagnosed with cancer, and now that was all Lisa could think about. It was miracle we even got her to come out tonight. And, finally we approached the front of the line. The ride worker was letting people out of the carriage and then it would be our turn to go in. He came back and opened the gate and let in Casey and Lisa. Then he shut it and left me behind.
"Hey wait, I'm with them too." I yelled. "Sorry pretty lady, only two to a carriage." he looked me up and down, licked his lips and then went back to helping Casey and Lisa get into the carriage. Gag. "Becca, we can get off and ride something else." I heard Lisa shout. "No worries, I didn't really want to ride it anyways." "K see ya when it's over." I looked over to her and Casey start talking immediately. I started walking back towards the entrance of the ride when an arm held me back. "Excuse me; I'm trying to get through, seeing as how I can't ride the ride." I looked up to see who had held me back. It was Sterling, the running-back on the football team. He was one of the most beautiful things I had ever seen. His crystal blue eyes went perfectly with his short and choppy brown hair. "Well seeing as I'm the third wheel in my group, I thought you might want to ride with me." He smirked at me as he saw the shock come across my face. Sure I was popular, but not as high on the popularity chart as Sterling Moore. "And why would you think that?" I asked playing it cool. "Because you like me, even if you don't know it yet, you like me. And I like you. So we're a perfect match to do something harmless, for instance riding the Farris wheel together." "Fine but it's not because I like you." I said not knowing if I was telling the truth. I smiled at him and then realized he was still touching me, but instead of holding my arm like he was before, his hand has moved down to my hand. We were now holding hands. Great. "Whatever you say." he smiled and leaned in and gave my lips the slightest touch.
