Stalker Immortal - chapter nine
"I can't believe your making me wear this," I said surveying my body as much as possible in the small bathroom mirror. "You wear things similar all the time," came Fay's voice from our room. "Don't be such a baby." I looked over the curve hugging black tank and the very tight skinnies. They made my boobs and butt look plumper than they really were. It was a simple outfit, but it did many things to my body. Even the accessories Fay had matched with the red pair of stilettos I was trying not to fall over in, made me look older. "I am not a baby," I told her childishly, wobbling back into the room. "And I can't walk properly in these." I stopped speaking when I caught sight of her. Lucky I wasn't a guy or the fact that my jaw had dropped would mean something completely different. She was wearing a very tight cocktail dress and her red hair was straight and teased. "To much?" she asked looking down at her skinny body. "No," I told her solemnly. She looked so damn good. "But I don't think Leighton will let you out of his sight tonight." She laughed, "That's the idea," then dragged me over to her desk and sat me down in her torture chair. I looked at the massive chest full of beauty products and frowned. "Why are you making me go to this party? I don't want to," I whined as she started to play with my straightened light brown hair. "Won't the teachers notice if a large amount of students leave school grounds?" "Not really," she said it as if it were simple fact. "And if they do, they look the other way." Surely, teachers wouldn't do that. "Majority of the student body are eighteen or older, so they don't really care what we do as long as the school isn't jeopardized. Plus we rarely get to attend parties so they'll be nice." This information could be my ticket out of going to this stupid early graduation party. "Well, I am still sixteen. Looks like I can't go," I said excitedly, beginning to stand up only to be pushed back down by an annoyed looking Fay. "You're going and that's final." I groaned, she sounded like my mother did when she said I had to stay at my grandmother's on the weekend. Fay decided that I didn't need much make up and settle with only mascara, liner and eyes shadow, which was fine by me. I'd never really been into the whole 'dress to impress' scenario. "Where's Kelsey?" I asked as Fay and I walked down to the front gates. Someone was going to drive us there. "She's going with Etan, and said that Heather wanted her to do her hair," she replied irritated. Before I could get in another word, she continued, "I am organizing you a birthday dinner for Sunday. "Just you, me, and Kelsey." That honestly sounded like a good idea. "That means no Etan, no Cole, no puppy dog Damien..." she ticked off her fingers. "And no Leighton," I added raising an eyebrow. She nodded sadly, with a smile. "Sounds like a good idea to me." I grabbed her hand. "Let's go party," she said with a lighter tone to her voice as she wiggled her hips. * * * * Etan's family home was at the very edge of town, down the road from Cole's house I noticed. At least only a few people in town would be disrupted by the music that was already pumping loudly. Fay and I met up with Leighton and drew outside. "Baby," he said looking over my figure. "You're looking fine tonight." "Don't let Cole hear you say that," Leighton said punching his arm. They started to mock fight and I couldn't help think about what Leighton meant. Why would Cole care if some other guy checked me out? Maybe because Drew was his mate, but I don't know... whatever. An arm slung over my shoulder and I turned to see Damien looking down at me. "Stop perving," I said slapping his chest. "Let's, go in." I grabbed Fay's hand, and she grabbed Leighton's. I'm sure the chain would have continued if Drew wasn't staring Damien down. Again with the stupid male ego. Fay took off with Leighton to do who knows what. I didn't really want to listen to the stuff she would tell me later. Lucky my birthday involved no male talk. I had no idea where Kelsey was, so I ended up moving into the living room to dance with Damien, which was proving quite difficult in these stupid shoes. There were people everywhere, vampires and magic folk alike. Dancing and drinking were the main activities, but there was also plenty of physical contact. "I'm going to get a drink," I yelled to Damien, it was hard to hear anything in this house. He nodded and followed me, still dancing as we went. I surveyed the variety of liquid refreshments in the corner. "Is there anything that doesn't contain some form of alcohol," I mumbled.
