Star's POV


My paws dug unto the cold dirt as I dashed away from my captors. Everything was so vivid when I was in wolf form. My mind was going crazy with all the strong smells and sudden movement. I could here them scrambling behind me trying to catch up. But I was to fast as I zig zagged past large trees.

'No! What are you doing Star?! You idiot!' I heard Jace's voice yell in my min through the pack link.

'I'm sorry... I can't just do nothing' I said back through the mind link, then I cut it off before he could order me to come back.

I lifted my nose into the air, still running and sniffed for Emma's sent. The moment I found her sent was the same moment a loud howl echoed through the forest. That howl wasn't from my pack.

I turned my head back to see that the rogues were no longer after me. They were gone. Was that call for them to retreat?

I slowed down to a trot and began to follow Emma's smell. Which also happens to be mixed in with a rogue, a vampire, and Luke. My mind was conjuring up all kinds of messed up situations which caused me to go into panic mode.

'Calm down Star, don't stress your mind its bad for your body' my wolf reminded me sternly.

I calmed down as I began to sniff my way along the path of scents that would lead to Emma. That's when I heard it. A loud crack erupted through out the forest in the direction of Emma'a scent.

"Papa NO!!!!" I hear Emma's voice scream loudly. Papa? Luke?

I didnt question it as I dashed my way closer to see Luke's huge black wolf attacking... Is that Blake? From yesterday?

Emma's eyes darted to me in confusion. She didn't know who I was, she's never seen my Wolf. I wasn't far from her maybe a few feet. The boys were fighting a couple yards away next to a broken oak tree.

I looked Emma over. She had blood scattered on her blue dress. It was vampire blood, I think. I couldn't tell. There was a strong smell of vampire blood coming from up wind.

BAM!

My head snapped to the direction at the sound and there was Luke on the ground next to another broken tree. I felt my heart drop and I let out a whimper.

"Stop it please!" Emma cried out to the both of them. Why was the vampire here? Emma's eyes watched both of them worriedly as they ignored her cries.

I watched as Blake punched Luke in the muzzle and Luke countered by flinging Blake into a broken tree. They were moving so fast it was hard to see.

Do they not notice me? Standing here?

"Mama is that you?" She asked hesitantly. I quickly nodded my head up at down and watched as she ran to me and buried her face into my blonde fur.

"Make papa stop! It's not Lokis fault!" She cried looking up at me. Papa? So she did know, I had my suspicions when I first heard her yell papa a few minutes ago, she was too smart for me. Also who's Loki? Is she talking about Blake?

I didn't question it and nodded my head up and down. Emma let go of my fur and I didn't hesitate as I tackled an angry Luke to the ground.

I felt sparks erupt on my skin the moment I touched him and I felt him calm down. I was now sitting into of him. Which looked weird considering we were both in wolf form. If I could I would talk to him through a mind link, but we weren't marked and I'm not from his pack.

He looked up at me with those glowing blue eyes which held confusion and excitement.

I looked back to see Emma tending to Blake. He was sitting in the ground looking at Emma amused as she worried over every little cut on his body.

Luke looked over too and he looked more confused. I got off him and watched as he got up and trotted off, out of sight. In a matter of minutes he came back, in human form wearing shorts, looking like a sex god.

"Emma come here" Luke ordered as he looked over to her and Blake. Emma huffed.

"vous n'êtes pas mon alpha, ne me commander pas là!" She said standing up blocking Blake away from Luke. She was protecting him, but I want to know why? How?

(Translation: your not my alpha, so don't order me around!)

I let out a growl. She knows better than to disobey an alphas orders even if they're not ours. Her eyes darted to me pleadingly.

"I don't speak French Emma!" Luke yelled, he was angry he probably caught on that she didn't want to listen.

"I know... About you being my papa" Emma said completely changing the subject. Luke's eyes widen in fear, he was scared...

"How?" He asked her lowly. Then he looked at me "did you tell her?" He asked. I shook my head no.

"I knew when I first saw your eyes... They look like mine" Her eyes were on Luke and his on hers. It was like me and Blake were just casted out of the father-daughter drama.

I should say something, but I can't I'm in wolf form, and if I transform back... I...

'What do we do?' My wolf asked. I felt fear engulf my body. She didn't know what to do.

I'm scared....

'I'm sorry, I should have never told you to shift' my wolf whined apologetically.

It wasn't her fault, we weren't thinking right, we were both on flight-or-fight mode and we needed Emma safe. We didn't save her but we did stop a probably meaningless battle.

"You hurt mama, so bad" Emma's strong voice cracked. I looked up to see tears forming in her glowing blue eyes a she looked at Luke. My heart touched my toes at the sight.

"I know sweetheart, and ill alway regret that..." He said as he walked over to Emma and got on one knee so that they were both on the same level.

"You made mama cry so many times..." She continued holding back her tears. I looked at Blake and he had this heart broken face as he looked at Emma's back. He looked like he was about to pull her into a hug.

"I will never make her cry ever again..." He promised taking one of her small hands in his.

"You rejected her..." She stated, Blake's face turned into pure shock as he looked from me to Luke. I wonder if he would remember me.

"I regret it with all heart, I want to be apart of your life.." He spoke softly, his eyes held so much love for her.

"Mama...." She said looking at me for some sort of approval. I felt a smile form on my muzzle as I nodded my wolf head up and down.

"Promise, that you'll love me forever!" Emma commanded. Luke chuckled as he got off the ground, picked her up, and twirled her around.

"I promise, to love you forever." He laughed and kissed her forehead.

"Yeah I'd like to know why I was attacked earlier?" Blake spoke up in monotone as he looked at Luke.

Luke put Emma down carefully and eyed Blake. "I thought you were her kidnapper, but I guess I was wrong" his voice calm and stern as he kept on hand on the top of Emma's head.

"She was kidnapped by a rogue, be happy I was here" Blake scoffed cockily.

"Everything was under control blood sucker! You should keep your nose out of other people's business!" Luke growled at him. Blake smirked and put his hands in his pocket.

He was wearing a plain white button up shirt that was dirty and torn from the fight, black designer jeans, but no shoes or anything.

"What? You want to get beat again dog?" Blake question with amusement. Emma huffed from Luke's side.

"Stop it Loki, why are you being so mean?" Emma questioned him hurt laced on her words. What Loki another name for him?

"I have to go. Catch Emma" he said as he thew a crystal to her. I watched as she caught it, I took a closer looks it was without a doubt a blood crystal.

"Why does she have a blood crystal?" Luke question looking at Blake suspiciously. Blake smirked and let out a chuckle.

"Because I want her to" he said simply than in a blink of an eye he was gone and his sent was faint.

I felt something tug in my stomach, the uncomfortable pull was turning into burning pain.

What's going on?

'We're shifting back to human..' My wolf voice was filled with worry.

I let out a howl of pain. It wasn't my wolf body that was in pain.. It was human body...


Jace's POV


My ears perked up at the sound of a painful howl cracklings along the forest. No, it was Star.

'Star! This is Jace! Tell me where your at?' I commanded through the pack link.

'I-it hurts... S-soo bad' I heard her voice whisper to me in my mind.

'Stay with me! Tell me where your at Star!' I pleaded this time.

'Luke....' Was all I got till the link went dead.

Luke? Is she with him?

My pack members were tending to the wounded girls who had silver burn marks on their body. We didn't know why, but the rogues let them go. Not only that some of my pack members caught sight of vampires hanging around the rogues. It was suspicious indeed.

'Alpha.. Have you gotten word on Star and Emma?' Mr. Smith asked via mind link.

I don't hesitate to give him all the information I got when I was talking to Star which wasn't much.

I shifted back into my human form and put on some shorts. I ran out of the woods and walked to Rose's side.

She looked worn out and tired, my poor babe. I tolled her to rest but she refuses to rest while her pack member are injured.

"Rose, darling.. I need you to get Dr. Grey for me," I tolled her. I watched as she nodded her head in understanding and ran off.

I looked around for any sigh of Luke or Star. But none. It was then that my beta, Ashton ran over to me panting for air with a cell phone in hand.

"Jace.. Important call from the..." Fear was printed on his face as he held up the cell phone to me, "the.. Terria Coven" he finished. My body stiffened at the name. What in the world would the Terria Coven want with me. I slowly took the phone and put it to my ear.

"Hello this is Alpha Jace of the Jade Pack" forced my voice to sound strong and stern.

"Alpha Jace, my underling is your care, Emma Terria Smith.. This is Vladimir...Terria" His voice was that of a king, overwhelming strong and stern, even through the phone my knees were shaking from the power that was held in his voice.

Star... What kind of things have you been doing for the last three years?


Luke's POV


Fear.

That's the only thing to describe what I was feeling right now. My daughter was crying out as my mate shook violently on the ground. She was in between a shift. What do I do?

'Don't touch her! Let her shift back first! If you touch her now her bones might form wrong' my wolf directed and I obeyed.

"Mama!" Emma cried out, I picked Emma up and turned her the other way so she wouldn't have to watch.

"Shhh... It's okay don't look" I said softly to Emma. I didn't want her to see this, it was something that would scar her for life if she did.

I looked over at Star. My heart felt like it was being stabbed, she was squirming on the ground in pain and there was nothing I could do to help. She was even holding back her screams of pain. I could tell my the way she was her mouth closed shut.

Sweat drops formed on her furry forehead as her bones shifted slowly into place. She isn't look human, and she didn't look wolf. Her shift was slow, usual shifts happen in the blink of an eye so you don't know what we look like while we're shifting, but now I know... It was scary to see her in this state and there was nothing I could do.

What was minutes felt like hours till he body finally got back to its human form. I quickly put Emma down and went to Stars side. Her body was limp, I quickly put my heart on her chest ignoring the fact that she was naked and listened... For life...

'Budump.........budump..........budum-'

It was faint, but it was still there. I looked at Emma was had tears rolling down her face as she watched us.

"She's still there sweetie, don't worry, I won't let her go anywhere" I smiled sadly as I picked up Stars limp body and held her close to my chest feeling the sparks go off like crazy.

"Emma, can you run?" I asked looking down at her. She looked up at me as she wiped her tears away and nodded her head up and down.

We began running with me holding Star and Emma following behind, we were headed for the pack house, where I knew help would be.
