Chapter 20

"Babysitting Ollie"

"They're dead," The social security worker said simply, "The child is blessed that he has not even a scratch." My mouth dropped open,

"But... How?" The woman smiled,

"There was an angel with him, I know it."

"Wow," I whispered. She cleared her throat,

"Down to business. Considering you are of legal age are you going to adopt Ollie?" The possibility had never even run through my mind. At least not recently. I'd always pushed it out, knowing that I could never handle a small child on my own when I'd barely graduated high school.

"I-I," My throat went dry. I looked down at my hands and felt a headache coming on.

"I know it's a big decision considering your only eighteen," She interrupted, "But unless you or someone you know can adopt him he's going back into foster care." I closed my eyes and let out a shaky breath. I opened them back up and readjusted the baseball cap on my head.

"Will you excuse me?" I whispered as I stood up and left the room. Walking out of the hospital doors, I sighed and sat on a metal bench. My finger hovered over the button on my phone. I gave in and pushed down.

Calling Louis Tomlinson...

"Anna Lee?" His breathless voice came over the phone.

"Hi," I replied quietly. Tear welled up in my eyes.

"Are you okay? Where are you? Do you know you've been gone for three days? What's going on?"

"I'm fine Lou."

"No you aren't. I can tell. Where are you? I'll come get you!"

"I'm in London," I blurted, immediately regretting it.

"London?!" He exclaimed, "What on earth are you doing there? I've been worried sick about you young lady why didn't you reply to any of our calls?"

"Ollie," I said weakly. The line was silent. "His foster parents died in a car accident."

"Why didn't you tell me," He whispered.

"I'm sorry." Tears rolled down my cheeks. Louis sighed,

"We'll be down there tomorrow morning. The boys will come get you and take you back to the house."

"What? No!" I yelled.

"Well where have you been staying?" He demanded. I stayed quiet. "Exactly," He said, "Harry will be there in twenty minutes."

"You're sending Harry?" I questioned.

"We made up. You can't keep Larry Stylinson apart," Louis replied dramatically. I rolled my eyes,

"But Lou-"

I heard a sound and looked down at my phone. The screen was black. What's wrong with it. Oh gosh. I hope I didn't break it. I tried pressing all the buttons but it didn't really work... At all. Great. I broke my phone, Harry's coming to pick me up, Louis is mad at me and I might have to give Ollie up.

Could it get any worse?

The answer is yes. Paparazzi is here. I sighed frustratedly. Wow. Now I actually want Harry to get here. I pulled my hat further down to cover my face. I hadn't really had to deal with them yet, I'd only heard about them from the boys.

Fifteen minutes later the familiar black SUV pulled up. I stood up, still hiding my face and climbed into the car. I didn't even look over at Harry as he pulled the car out of the hospital parking lot.
