Silent Beauty: Chapter Sixteen

Chapter 16:

Anthony’s POV:

                We all got into Liam’s car as I mentally kicked myself for my word choice. I didn’t mean that I didn’t want to stay with Ally, but I just don’t think I can.

                They will hunt me down and they have enough resources to find me and they would not be happy when they did. I couldn’t put Ally in danger like that. She was better off without me in her life. I can only end up hurting her more by staying.

                Mark is ruthless and if he found out I had a twin sister he would kidnap her, too, and I’ve seen what they do to young girls in that pack. I could never watch them do that to Alex. I would end up dying trying to save her from them.

                I didn’t want to hurt her, though, so I don’t know what to do. I wish things were different and I didn’t have to leave. It’s better if I do, though.

                Liam would take care of her. It’s obvious he is completely in love with her, and she feels the same for him. He can keep her safe and that will at least give me some sort of comfort when I go back to that horrible place.

                I sighed as we pulled up to a huge house with a couple teens and children hanging around. One little boy was standing by the door hopping anxiously and looking around.

                He stopped when he saw the car and ran to meet us when we parked. Ally got out of the car and he launched himself into her arms. “MOMMY!!”

                Alex, who was looking somber since my screw up was now smiling and giggling at the boy in her arms. She looked down at him lovingly as they chattered excitedly. “Adam! You didn’t nap for very long!” She exclaimed, and I finally realized what the boy had said.

                He had called her ‘mommy’. I examined him closer and my mouth dropped to the ground. He had blonde hair and his blue eyes matched mine and Alex’s. He actually looked almost exactly what I looked like when I was younger.

                I can’t believe Alex has a kid. I mean, I could tell she and Liam really loved each other but she was only seventeen, and this boy looked to be at least five! There’s no way he is hers. Right?

                By now Liam had gotten out of the car and was smiling at Alex until he noticed my expression. He must have seen the shock and confusion on my face because he chuckled and walked over to me.

                “Don’t worry. He is not our child. Not officially anyways. He has taken a liking to Ally, though, and he has no other family so I think Ally has made it her mission to take care of him. “ He said looking affectionately over at them.

                I breathed a sigh of relief, and decided now would be a good time to do my brotherly duties. “You really love her, don’t you?” I asked and his head snapped towards me.

                “I love her with all of my heart.” He said strongly with no hesitation or doubt in his voice, and I could see in his eyes that he was telling the truth, but I still had to warn him. It was my job.

                “If you ever hurt her, I will hunt you down and kill you. I can tell you are an Alpha but that won’t stop me. I love my sister more than anything and if you make her sad or break your heart, you will have me to deal with.” I said menacingly meaning every single word.
