Note Forty-Five

"Hey, I just met you, and this is ca-razy, but here's my number, so call me maybe!"

To my luck, Tucker's phone rang just as Terrence was approaching me; whether or not that was a good thing, I wasn't sure of, but I couldn't help wondering, as Tucker walked away to answer it, why he had Call Me Maybe as his ringtone.

"Cora! Wait!"

"What the hell Terrence?!"

He was panting as he stopped in front of me, resting his hands on his legs. "I just want to apologize. Again."

"Yuo couldn't do that by texting me. Or even calling? What possessed you to follow me to Tucker's house?" Needless to say, I was pissed, and a little freaked out.

"I dunno." He shrugged his shoulders. "I just want to say I'm sorry. And that I want to be friends."

"No."

"No?"

"No."

"Cora, come onnnnnn."

"NO."

I crossed my arms and watched him as his face fell as if he actually cared that he had hurt my feelings.

"Fine. I didn't think I'd have to do this. But I will."

"What?"

"Cora, you really left me no choice."
What are you talkin-"

Before I could finish my words or react, Terrence stepped forward, grasped my arms, and kissed me.
