‘She’s better known for the things that she does on the mattress Uuoaaahh!’ Meryl brawled on top of her lungs making me cringe.

“Good Lord woman. It’s bad enough I have to make sure I keep my eyes functioning in an area full of loud music and high teens. Do I really need to lose my ability to hear right now?” 

Meryl pouted but stopped anyway, I felt her look at me and tried to ignore her as much as I could but she wouldn’t stop staring.

“You know it’s a must that you look in front of you when you’re driving right?” I asked frowning at her.

“Sweetie… you need to have fun tonight ok? I’m worried about you here.” She said biting her lip.

“You know you’re becoming too motherly with me lately Mel you know that?”

Smiling just a little, she ignored me and kept driving.

We arrived at the party just as people were starting to drink so it hadn’t started all super loaded mania all over the place. A couple of people were seated around a fire just talking, making stupid jokes and cuddling with their girlfriends or boyfriend. It was as normal as it could get, shrugging I headed to were chuck was seated together with a couple of guys from school.

“Hey babe.” He greeted extending one and inviting me to go sit.

I hesitated a little but still sat down. I wasn’t really in a people mode right now but I needed to be distracted. A brunet from three seats over handed me a can of beer, it really wasn’t my think but I took it anyway, I was a hard liquor kind of girl but getting drunk wasn’t something I wanted to do, stumbling home to meet my dad on the couch wasn’t what I wanted, I was at least going to be able to defend myself when I got home. A sarcastic laugh escaped my lips causing a few people to frown but I just ignored them and leant into the warmth of the fire. Thinking about my dad had always made me go cold, it was a while before I noticed someone was leaning on my lap and looking up at me, I looked down and locked eyes with Addie who looked so happy enough of it rubbed off to help manage a smile for her.

“Aren’t you supposed to be on a date?”

Addie shrugged and sat up. “I am Josh just excused himself for a few minutes.”

“Why, was sup?”

“He went over to have a chat with Liam.”

“Liam… he went to have a CHAT with Liam?” I asked raising one eyebrow.

“I know, it must be something about the team and all.”

“Oh, alright, anyway how’s the date going?”

“Its fun, I’m having fun, josh is being so sweet.”

“He better be.” Mel said throwing herself in-between us.

Addie chuckled and hugged Mel before turning throwing a curious glance where most of the cars were parked.

“That doesn’t look so friendly.”

Following her gaze, I saw too figures standing too close to each other for a simple conversation, and their body language didn’t look friendly at all. It took me a few seconds because it was pretty dark where they were standing but my eyes adjusted enough to allow me to recognize Liam’s face Which was covered in a dark angry scrawl. I don’t know if it was the dark effecting me but he looked so scary, for a minute I argued going to stop what was obviously about to turn into a nasty fist fight.

“Okay guys we need to get there like now.” I said getting to my feet

“You’re full of shit… you think you can just do whatever you want just cause daddy’s the big-.”

Josh didn’t get a chance to finish his sentence because just I got to them Liam had him pinned to the ground and was raising his fist ready to drill Josh to the ground and somehow I knew he could do it.

“Liam no!” my voice rang out.

Liam froze and looked up at me; his breathing was labored making his body shake. He ignored me and looked down at josh again. I felt rather than sense the violence take him over, I didn’t take a second to think about it; I just launched myself at him and the next thing I knew I was on top of him, looking into those eyes. For a second they were an angry, stormy grey then they were green; they seemed a softer to me, almost gentle. I wanted to stay there and just ignore everything but that didn’t last. Someone grabbed a hold of me from behind and pulled me off of Liam. Josh set me down so that I was standing next to him and for a second I was mad at josh but I was distracted by the angry growl that came out of Liam who was now on his feet looking angrier than he had a few minutes ago if that was even possible.
