The fact that Fred and I were back as “Hogwarts Best Couple” –according to Serena “We were all anyone talked about, blah blah blah.”- made me happier than anything. He was definitely still jealous that I still was friends with Wesley and James and yes, that bothered me, but I learned to ignore it. Kind of. Not really. But things were nice…

Fred’s hands ran up my back and I rolled my head back as he kissed my neck. We were in a very strange –yet comfortable- position in a third floor broom closet near the teacher’s lounge. I was laying on a cleaning cart and Fred was basically on top of me. My legs were on either side of him. His lips came back to mine and I explored his mouth as his hand came to the front and snaked up my shirt. With his other hand he pulled my left leg over him. “Hey Seph?” He asked, letting me kiss his neck now.

“Hm?” I asked.

“Did you ever snog James?”

I stopped kissing him so abruptly that my head slammed back against the side of the cleaning cart, causing a few cleaning items to fall out of their places. I swore and rubbed the spot as Fred sat up, now straddling me. “What?” I growled, still rubbing it. “No! I don’t like him like that.”

“But you did.”

“Fred-”

The closet door opened and Fred and I both looked up quickly. Wesley stood there, one hand on the door. His face paled when he saw us and at first I thought he was going to scream his pretty little head off but instead he just said –with great confidence, “No, Professor Umbridge, there isn’t anyone in here.”

“Thank you, Mr. Boot.” The high-pitched voice sang. And moments later we heard heels clicking away. I breathed a relieved sigh since; due to Umbridge’s new rules, snogging was extremely punishable by expulsion. God, she’s a psychopath.  Just because she can’t get any doesn’t mean we should suffer.

“Thanks, Wesley.” I breathed as the heels got further away. Fred was glaring at him until I jabbed him in the ribs. “Thank him.” I whispered. He gave me an incredulous look. I gave him a serious one back. And then Fred sighed.

“Thanks.” He said.

Wesley nodded.

“I wouldn’t thank him just yet.” A voice said. I nearly peed myself. I don’t think any of us heard Snape sneak up behind Wesley until he was right at the Ravenclaw’s shoulder. Wesley’s face paled even more as Snape placed a hand on his shoulder. “Mr. Boot, run along and get…” Oh no, he was going to turn us in. I wouldn’t be able to finish Hogwarts- “Professor McGonagall.”

Fred and I both sighed as Wesley scurried away.

“Now, what is this, the twentieth time?” Snape mused as we looked around nervously. “Mr. Weasley, I would appreciate it if you dismounted Miss Tate.”

“Twenty sixth, actually, Professor.” I said as Fred jumped off of me. Snape sneered.

“A new record. You should be very proud.”

“I am, Professor. Do I get a medal?”

Fred snorted a laugh and Snape glowered. “You may be special because of your di-”

“I will take it from here, Professor Snape, thank you.”

“Caught in the broom closet. In the girls bathroom. In the 2nd floor corridor. In the Prefect bathroom. On the 5th floor staircase. In the Astronomy Tower. In the wardrobe in the- How on earth did you fit in the wardrobe in the teacher’s lounge?” McGonagall cried as Fred and I stood in front of her desk, taking turns poking the little owl figurine that tried bite your finger when you touched it. Fred had gotten bit twice and was nursing a bruised finger behind his back. His right pinkie finger was locked around mine between us. Professor McGonagall hadn’t seen. Wesley was standing beside McGonagall –he was there because he lied/caught us- and had seen it all. He had an odd expression on his face that I couldn’t quite decipher. I giggled.

“It was a tight fit, Professor.” Fred said. And we both cracked up. Wesley scoffed and looked away. McGonagall actually cracked a smile.

“Well, Mr. Weasley, as much as young love warms my heart I’m afraid I have to give you both detention. I will not tell Professor Umbridge. This time.”

But we all understood that there wouldn’t be anyone telling Umbridge anything important. Ever.

“Please see me tomorrow night at eight. You’ll be washing down my boards.”

This was letting us off easy. Maybe McGonagall really did support young love.

“As for Mr. Boot.” Wesley straightened up. “Professor Flitwick has decided you need no punishment. You didn’t rat out your classmates. Good for you. You all may go.”

And before we did she said one last thing; “I think I chose right in Head Boy and Girl.”

More days, more weeks, more snogging. Much, much more pranking. After filling Fred and George in on my massive prank that James and I were working on they agreed to help. But they didn’t like James, obviously, so they avoided him.

We lay on the floor, gazing up at the ceiling that was decorated with stars and that Firenze, our new Divination teacher, was talking about. Something something Neptune something something Seeing. One of my hands was clasped around Fred’s and the other was holding a block of Serena’s super-secret-emergencies-only chocolate stash. Of course, Divination class wasn’t an emergency but Serena said she could break her own rules every now and then. She was laying on my right side and James was sprawled out at our feet. Fred and George were on my left. New Divination with new centaur teacher was actually fun. But this was more important;

“So, who do you think,” Serena whispered, sneaking frequent peeks at her Boy List. “Dean Thomas or Terry Boot?”

“That’s difficult.” I whispered as Firenze clomped by us. Then I laughed. “Maybe you should date Firenze.”

We both burst into giggles and then I started choking on my chocolate, which I guessed I deserved, because I was eating while laying down. But that made Serena laugh harder and then James noticed and started freaking out that my face was turning purple. Fred and George shot up but then started laughing as well when I got the chocolate out of my throat and safely back in my mouth. Needless to say, we disrupted the class. “Excuse me?” Firenze said, coming over. Serena and I both looked up at him sheepishly. “What’s in your hand?” I shot a glance at Serena and then sat the brand new chocolate in Firenze’s outstretched palm. He gave me a look. “Chocolate is for later. Not my class.” Serena glared at me. “Do you have anymore?” Firenze asked.

“Only in my mouth.” I said through garbled chocolate-mouth. He held out his other hand and there were giggles throughout the classroom. I frowned at him. “Er. You want me to spit it out?”

“Please.”

I opened my mouth and allowed the warm, squishy, chewed-up chocolate blob to fall in his hand. A few girls squealed in disgust and Fred and George laughed and then Firenze returned to his teaching. He threw the chocolate and the nasty half-eaten blob on the floor and they disappeared. Serena was still glaring at me. “You owe me chocolate.”

“Buy it yourself. I’m poor.” I breathed.

“Yeah, right. You’re buying me more.”

“You scared me.” James hissed suddenly. Serena and I looked up at him and I laughed.

“I’m fine.”

“Yeah, James. Calm down.”

“Your boyfriend doesn’t seem to be that concerned.”

I then noticed Fred and George looking over at us, both with annoyed faces. “I was.” Fred muttered.

“Yes. I could tell by how you were laughing.”

“Shut up, McLane.”

“Make me, Weasley.”

“Maybe I will.”

Shut it!” I shouted, causing everyone to look at me once more. Firenze glared and pointed to the door. “I know, I know.” I said, standing up. “I’m leaving.”
