Spirits

I wanted to make this chapter to tell you of my spiritual encounters and hopefully have you share your stories in the comments. So this chapter is dedicated to spirits and the ability to see, hear or feel them.

There are three main types of psychic ability: Clairvoyance, Clairaudience and Claircognizance. Clairvoyance is the ability to see spirits, Clairaudience is the ability to hear spirits and Claircognizance is an instinctual feeling that a spirit is nearby. Most Wicca only have one of these abilities but certain people can have two, three or sometimes none at all. However in rare cases, with powerful spirits, they can make you see/hear them even if that isn’t your ability. 

I am a Clairaudience, many spirits have haunted me but I only hear them. Spirits are drawn to the energy you use when you do a spell. Burning Sage before and after the spell will help get rid of the spirits, but sometimes they are drawn to the magic within you. 

A few ways to know you are being haunted: 

Seeing the spirit, hearing voices that aren't there (probably calling your name), rooms suddenly getting colder, feeling like someone is watching you, things moving or showing up somewhere else, finding scratches or bruises on your body. There are many others but those are the most common.

Not all spirits want to hurt you, if you use white magic then chances are they are harmless. Bruises on your arms or legs do not mean that the spirit wants to hurt you, it is just trying to get your attention. However scratches mean that the spirit is trying to harm you, an occasional mystery scratch is fine but if you are continually getting scratched and you don’t know how then you probably have an angry spirit haunting you.

Now for some stories:

I get haunted quite regularly but to this day I have not come across an evil spirit. The first haunting I ever had was after I did a full moon ritual in 2007. It was a little boy and I could always hear him calling my name over my right shoulder. I got bruises on my thighs and stomach because that was as high as he could reach. One of my friends is Clairvoyant and she mentioned that I had a small shadow following me. I learnt a technique on how to banish spirits and he was gone the next day.

This story is only exciting if you know of the goddess Athena. I was helping one of my friends through a problem using my goddess oracle cards, they were being quite cheeky (the goddesses) but they answered her question perfectly.  I was shuffling the oracle cards when one jumped out of the deck and landed face down. When I picked it up my ears started ringing really loudly, my vision blurred and I heard a feminine voice say my name clear as day, the card I was holding was Athena’s. This was the most exciting thing because I worship Athena and she spoke to me.

This one spirit just really irritated me. I was lying in bed at about 11:00 and I kept hearing the front door open, footsteps would walk into the house and then the door would close. That happened about 5 times so I got out of bed and walked towards the door while using my phone for light. I got two metres away from the door when the spirit yelled “WHAT?!?” right into my ear. I got such a fright that I jumped and dropped my phone. When I got back to bed the sounds of the door stopped but I was pretty freaked out so I didn’t sleep well that night.

So those were my favourite three stories. I thought I would share those because it was my first time being haunted, I spoke to a goddess and the third one was my only negative encounter with a spirit.
