"I cannot believe you said no to Ethan!" Sara said for the hundredth time as we soak ourselves up in my swimming pool.

I shrugged. Ethan had asked me out after we were done bowling last night, and yes I came in last by the way.

"It's not that hard to believe," I said. "He's not my type."

Sara gave me an incredulous look. "He's cute!"

"So is my grandfather," I said rolling my eyes and swimming away from her. I had enough of her lectures about summer fling. To be honest, I really didn't find Ethan all that appealing. I mean, he's cute and all but he wasn't my type. Which is surprising because I didn't know I had a type before.

"Does this have to do with your weird baseball thing? Like you only date the outfielders and no one else"

I lifted myself up, getting off the water. I walked over to our beach chairs and took my towel and then  rubbing my brown hair with it.

"No. Plus I've never dated a baseball player before," I said.

Sara lifted herself off the swimming pool but sat on the edge of it, dangling her feet in the water.

"How about Jake Hilker? He's a baseball player and you dated him sophomore year," she reminded me.

I smiled at the thought of my fifteen year old self dating someone. I sighed. Everything seemed so perfect back then.

"Oh yeah," I said recalling to the six month relationship I had with Jake. "He was a good kisser."

"So what's really stopping you from going out with Ethan?"

I groaned. "When are you going to give this up?"

"Until you go out with him!"

"Why?" I asked confused. Never during my years of knowing Sara has she ever pressured me into going out with someone. She would usually shrugged and just brushed it off. But the fact that she wasn't letting go of this whole Ethan thing made me curious. "Did he say something to you?" I asked narrowing my eyes.

She shook her head. "No. I just figured you know, Ethan and Dean are best friends. Wouldn't it be awesome if my best friend started dating my boyfriend's best friend?"

"No, not really," I said taking a sip of my iced tea and lying on the beach chair. I put my earphones on to drown off the sound of Sara's voice. As much as I love her, I knew she wasn't going to stop until she gets what she wants.

I chuckled as I heard her groaned. I closed my eyes, ready to fall asleep when a new voice sounded through the kitchen.

My brow furrowed in confusion trying to make out the words. I knew it was Zane talking to someone. I took my earphones out of my ear and listened intently. I could hear him through the open french door.

"I don't have it. No... I already told you, I don't have it," he said.

I know I shouldn't be eavesdropping right now, but it wasn't my fault he was practically yelling.

He stepped out of the french door and quickly turned around when he noticed Sara and I both outside. Sara looked at me confused.
