A/N: Hey there! Thanks for reading! The last chapter of IWVITV had quite a cliff-hanger to it, don't you think? Now all will be revealed!
P.S: IWVITV has almost 2,000 reads! YAAAAAY!! Thanks so much for reading! I said that twice now. Damn. I'ma shut up now and let you read. Hope you enjoy!
Gasps filled the room. When they cleared, a stony silence replaced it, hanging limp and heavy in the air.
"Who is it?" screeched Mrs Dobre, breaking the wall of stillness that stood between her and Lavinia, Maria and Ioan.
"Who else is here?" Ioan whispered, his scarlet eyes scanning the household.
Lavinia gulped. "Ma, Maria and I. No one else," she answered. She couldn't take her eyes off him. She couldn't take her eyes off the horror of what he had turned into. But could it have happened?
Ioan nodded, letting out a sigh of relief. He took a large step forward, toward Lavinia, when Maria could not keep her screams in any longer.
"Sssshhh!" Lavinia hushed her urgently. It was quite late into the night, and unwanted attention from their neighbours was the last thing they needed.
As usual, Ioan took matters into his own hands, and turned his directions so he began to approach Maria. "Shut up," he ordered, his red eyes blazing into hers.
"Go away!" Maria shouted, hitting out at Ioan. He reacted instantly - in a matter of seconds, he had Maria by the wrists; his cold, hard hands firmly wrapped round them.
Lavinia watched them, not knowing what to do.
"Who is it?" screeched Mrs Dobre again, her voice more irate as she didn't get a reply the first time.
Lavinia chose to ignore her again. "Get off her, Ioan," she whispered softly, still taken aback from what just his state. She didn't want to anger Ioan anymore, once she saw what she could do. But Lavinia's soft approach astonished Maria.
"You useless bitch," she hissed, eyeing Lavinia evily. If she wasn't restrained, she would have probably slapped her. "Mama! Mama!" she shouted out. "Help!"
Mrs Dobre appeared, clutching a knife for protection. But it made a metallic scraping sound as it hit the wooden floor.
"Ioan?" she asked, the surprise clear in her voice.
Ioan just stared at her, and while his guard was down, Maria slipped out of his clutches and ran to her estranged mother.
"I need Lavinia," he said bluntly.
Mrs Dobre frowned, and looked at Lavinia. "Did you do this?" she asked, dumbfounded.
"How could I?" said Lavinia dryly, rolling her eyes. Her mother's ignorance annoyed her. But she was now focused on Ioan. "What do you want me for?" Lavinia made sure her voice was firm and had no emotion to it. He didn't deserve her pity, not after what he done.
Ioan opened his mouth to speak, but Maria cut him off.
"Get him out, mother!" she shouted, reaching down for the knife.
Lavinia forgot her frostiness toward Ioan and stepped infront of him, blocking Maria's way.
"Don't hurt him," instructed Lavinia, holding her hands up to emphasise her point. "He's not harmful."
"Oh really?" Maria exasperated, dropping the knife. "Explain this!" She held up her wrist, which had a thick, reddish line circling around it.
Lavinia frowned, and spun round to Ioan. "You're strong..." she whispered, her voice trailing off. Red-eyed people where strong? Since when? But that would explain why they murdered people so easily.
"Get him out!" Maria screeched again, her voice reaching a steep asperity. Lavinia just stared at her, silently praying that her sister would just be inaudiable for a few seconds, so she could piece together what was happening.
She turned back round to face Ioan. "What do you want me for?" she asked him in a hushed tone.
"Change me back," Ioan whispered, his red eyes boring into her. "Change me back to how I was. Back from this," he said. His eyes pleaded silently to her, begging for Lavinia's help.
She stepped backward, slightly scared. "Change you back?" she repeated, confused. "I don't understand."
"The cure. The cure you are making," Ioan stuttered, his answers short and quick. "I want - I need - the cure." His breathing seemed to get heavier and faster. He began to sway slightly, his eyes fluttering.
