*Anna‘s POV*

It is now Friday and we are about to close the diner early today, for some reason, at four. Jace has been excited about something all week long but wont tell me anything other than it’s a surprise. Which I’m not real happy with since I don’t like surprises.

“Anna! Lock up for me I‘ll be right back down and finish cleaning.” my mom says giving a knowing look towards Jace. What the heck is that about?

“Sure.” I go and turn the latch on the door and pull all the shades in the windows down. As I finish that I see my mom come back downstairs with a duffel bag in her hands and a huge smile on her face, holding the duffel towards Jace.

Ok I am so confused.

Jace turns towards me after he takes the duffel from my mom’s hands. “Lets go”?

Go? “Go where”? What is going on?

“I will explain when we get there, ok”? he says and I just nod my head. He takes my hand leading me out the back door. “Bye Tess, and thanks”! he calls out.

“Your welcome dear! Have fun”! my mom responds. Ok so my mom knows about this? That must be why she’s been smiling at me all week. Weird.

When we get to his truck he throws the bag in the back seat and gets in. I’m still standing outside if the truck.

“You getting in or are you going to stand outside the whole time”? he questions.

I nod my head and get in. He pulls out of the parking lot and heads towards his house.

“Are we going to your house”? I ask. I wish he would just tell me where the heck we are going and what the surprise is.

“Yeah, but we wont be there long. We have to do something and I have to pick up some stuff and then we will be able to leave.” he says excited but he also seems a little nervous.

“Oook? Can I turn the radio on”?

“Yeah. Go ahead.”

I turn the radio and Scotty McCreery’s song ‘I Love You This Big’ is playing. He starts to hum the lyrics then he starts to sing them. Gah! I love his voice when he sings! I smile at the thought and turn my head and look out the window. The song finishes when he pulls into the driveway.

He puts the truck in park and opens his door. “C‘mon”

We walk inside and he yells out to his parents. “We‘re here”!

“Ok son”! calls Parks as we head up the stairs to Jace’s room.

“Ok. Go hop in the shower.”

“What”? I say looking at him like he’s done lost his mind.

“Trust me.”

“I don’t have any clo-” he held up a hand to stop me and pointed to the duffel, “Oh.”

“Yep” he says with a smirk on his face.

“Ok in I go.” I say then head to the bathroom and close the door.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I step out of the shower and put a towel around me and look at the clothes my mom had packed. Bra, underwear, jeans, socks, t-shirts and a long sleeve button up shirt and my hoodie. What the heck is all this for?
I grab a pair of jeans and a t-shirt and my underclothes and get dressed. When I walk out the bathroom and back into Jace’s room my breath catches. He turns and looks at me, sees my expression and smirks.
