Oh, and if any of you guys are in the path of Irene, stay safe!!! <3 and if you're supposed to evacuate, for Pete's sake, suck up your pride and evacuate!!! Well, I think that's about all I can blabber about right now! Here's the chapter! RECAP ******************************************************************************************************** "From now on, ve are no longer in an allience. Any partnership vetween ze CIA and yew people is over. From now on, yew are on your own." ************************************************************************************ We hurried out of the Headquarters, fully aware of the glares of hatred people were giving us. I was reaching for the door handle, when a horrible thought hit me- how were we supposed to get out of there? I started to panic. I didn't want to be stuck in a building of people who hated me! Who knew what they would do to us when they found out that we insulted their boss? I was too young to die!!!!
Then I heard it. That loud, rythmic beating of a helicopter, coming from right above us. I craned my neck to look up, and sure enough, a huge helicopter with "Chanel" written on the side was hovering right over us.
I looked around and saw people's mouths hanging wide open as the helicopter landed on the grass, and I couldn't help but smirk. I guess it wasn't everyday a helicopter chose to land on the CIA's front lawn.
The wind was incredible- it felt like we were standing in the middle of a hurricane. We struggled our way fowards, trying not to be blown backwards. I could see Mr. Chanel hunched over inside of the helicopter, looking annoyed.
"Would it kill you to walk any faster? No no, take your time, I have all day you know." he snapped sarcastically, and I rolled my eyes.
We climbed into the helicopter, and even though it was huge, we were still crammed like sardines. The whole ride back was silent, each of us thinking our own separate thoughts. I just hoped that the Boss wouldn't kill me when we got back..
. About an hour later... "You did what?!?!" The Boss exploded, his face turning an unhealthy shade of purple. I gulped nervously.
"I sort of kind of ended our alliance with the CIA." I mumbled so quietly that it came out as a whisper. The Boss was sucking in large breaths of air, and looking as though he was trying to stay calm.
Natalie stepped forwards, and said in a brave voice, "It wasn't her fault." I shook my head at her to tell her to stop talking.
I knew that it was my fault, I was the one who picked a fight with an old cat man.
"Do you have any idea what this means?" The Boss asked, glaring at me.
I gave him a weird look, and said slowly "Yes, it means we don't have an alliance with them any more..."
"No." He cut me off, his voice sharp. "Yes, we don't have an alliance with them any more. But that's a lot worse than you think it is, Nikki. The CIA doesn't just break alliances like that. You're either your friend or their enemy, and right now, we're their enemies."
Ooops! It would have been kind of helpful if he told me that BEFORE he sent us there! Speaking of that....
"Why did you send us there anyways?" I asked curiously.
I mean, he had never told us why, and I'd just assumed that they'd had information for us. Well, you can see how wrong that guess was.
His face scrunched up like he was thinking, and finally he answered, "Didn't they have info for you?"
I shook my head vigorously, and told him sourly, "Not unless you count him going on and on about, "Yew 'ave some infowmation that vould ve vewy helpful for us."
