Hurry up. Grab some clothes and come right back," Amber said as I pulled into my driveway. I nodded and got out of the car. I didn't want her to see that I was acaully kind of afraid to go into my house so I just walked with my head high. Unlocking the door, I couldn't tell whether anyone was here or not. It was completely silent.

"Mom!" No reply. Taking two stairs at a time, I made my way into my room. Pictures of me and Amber when we were kids greeted me as I entered. Gosh, I need to clean up. Reaching under my bed I pulled out my duffel bag and threw clothes in. Panties, Bra, Toothbrush, toothpaste. I threw my items into my bag left and right.

"Chole, sweetie, what are you doing." I shot my head up. My dad was standing at my doorway. "I'm going to Ambers house for the night, I'll be back tomorrow," I said picking up my duffel bag and throwing it over my shoulder. He nodded his head and walked away.

He didn't care. I closed my door and practically ran down the stairs.

"So, I need to go pick up my brother from the park, then we can head home." Me and Amber sped down the deserted road towards our neighborhood park. I nodded my head and reached for a cigarette. Rolling down my window, I quickly took a puff then blew it out. I should seriously consider stopping this smoking habit. As I was bringing the cigarette to my lips again, it was snatched out of my hands. "Amber I'll stop just let me fin-" I looked over to see Amber taking a puff of my cigarette. I laughed and shook my head.

Hypocrite.

Pulling into the parks parking lot, I could see kids of all ages. "I'm going to take a walk, come find me when you find your brother," I said and took off. My head was down and I was watching my feet hit the pavement when, for the second time that day, I was rammed into.

"Well look what we have here. Hey little firecracker." Reese Parker. I groaned and looked up at him. Those grey eyes connected to mine in an instant. I was so captivated by his gaze that I almost didn't see the other three guys behind him. I let my gaze drift to them for a split second before resting them back on Reese. "What brings you to the park firecracker?"

" My name is Chole. C-H-O-L-E. Maybe you should learn it, and the last time I checked, the park was open to the public," I said rolling my eyes. Jesus, why was I still here. Why didn't I just keep walking.

Because you're just as interested in him as he is in you.

I was expecting Reese to get angry, to blow up, but I got the exact opposite. He laughed. As sexy as it sounded, it confused the hell out of me. Why wasn't he acting bad boyish. I haven't seen him do anything bad boy like all day.

"See guys, this is why I call her firecracker. You light her up and she blows," he said to his friends, who were still eyeing me. They chuckled a bit, but that was about it.

"You don't seem like much of a bad boy Reese. Every time I see you act like any other kid. So why do you hold that title?" I asked. I don't know what I said that could make him so angry, but, boy oh boy, I said it.

His laughing stopped. His once grey eyes blazed till they looked almost black. " You don't know me. You don't know anything," he said, pointing his finger at me.

Nice mood swings he has there.

"Whatever," I muttered and since the first time we talked, I was able to walk away from him. Time to go find Amber.

Reese's POV

"Whatever." I watched as Chole's green eyes flared before she walked away. Her blonde locks beckoning me to follow and run my hands threw them. Her body begging me to take it in my hands and hold on to it.

"I like her Reese, my boy. She's a keeper." I looked over to my friend Trey and nodded. I knew that already. I knew that earlier today when I bumped into her. She was defiantly a keeper. But I couldn't have her. I couldn't bring her into my world. "Yea. Anyway are we gonna go handle this or what," I asked pulling my gun out from the back of my pants. My friends nodded and we all headed into the woods behind the park. "Listen Rico, I want you to take out anybody that tries to keep us from our target. Trey you got the rope right, all I want you to do is be ready to tie him up. Lance, you'll help me get to him," I directed as we moved swiftly and silently deeper into the forest.

" Alright kid," Lance said stopping his movement. We all stopped too. "There they are." He pointed to a group of about 5 to 6 people. Our target right in the middle. I heard the tree above me move and I raised my gun to it in an instant reflex. But it was only Rico. He had climbed it as soon as he spotted them. The rest of us hid behind the bushes and watched as Rico did his job. He let his finger hit the trigger. BOOM. First guy was down. Then it was like it all clicked. We rushed out of the bushes. I set my eyes on the target.

Mr. Moon.

I rushed past my group, Lance right behind me. "Lance cover me!," I yelled as I dodged a bullet. It flew past my ear. I could here gun shots going off behind me, but I didn't stop till I was directly in front of Mr. Moon.

He threw a punch at me. Wow, his hand eye coordination was way off. Stupid moron. I hit him on the side of his head with my gun, while sliding my feet underneath him. I pushed him back so he tripped over my feet while I landed a punch directly into his eye. He cried out in pain as landed another punch at his jaw. I was about to hit him again but Trey came over and took him away from me. He took the rope and wrapped it around Mr. Moon bloody body. "Hello Mr. Moon. I'm Troy from Grandville Agency and you are under arrest. You have the right to remain silent. Everything you say will be held against you---" The rest of what he was saying trailed off.

I felt a pat on my back and turned to see Rico smiling at me. "Good job kid. You've finished your fifth case this month. I'm proud of you. Staying focused in school and not giving anything away. I've heard how you're the bad boy and all that jazz. If only they really knew. Now come help us get this dude back to the agency and you'll have the rest of the week off."

I smiled and nodded. My hand was killing me but I brushed it off. "I'll get in the back of the truck with him. Trey, join me why don't you," I said laughing and holding out my arm. Trey laughed too and hooked his left arm into my right one and we skipped off to the van together.

When we got in Mr. Moon was laughing. Laughing loud and proud. "What's so damn funny," I asked. "You think you have won, dear one, but you've done no such thing. I will get out of here. Rather it's escaping or being let out but I will be free. And when I do, oh when I do, You-," he said pointing his grubby fingers at me, " will have hell to pay. I'll find the thing closest to your heart and I will end it." He laughed more as I narrowed my eyes at him. My mind immediately went to Chloe. We have barely known each other for a full day but I know that she's it for me. Crazy I know. All I have to do is stay away from her. That's it. It'll be easy. Right?

Mr. Moon didn't say anything else for the rest of the ride. He didn't even look at me. He just stared out the window, mumbling to himself every now and then. He was strange catch, but I didn't dare say anything. We pulled up into the agencies parking lot and pulled around back where the criminals were escorted.

"Get him outta here," Lance said, unlocking the back door and letting us out. I grabbed his left arm while Trey grabbed his right and together we forced him out of the van and through the double doors. The fresh air inside the agency hit my face and I breathed it in deeply.

Thank God for air conditioning.

After we led Mr. Moon through the registration process, we took him to his cell. "Ok, this here is your new home. Love it, hate it, I don't really care because this is all you're getting for the rest of your life," Trey said walking away with Lance and Rico. "Well, have a nice life," I said closing the cell doors and walking away. Well attempting too. "Wait, Mr. Parker. Before you leave I just wanted you to remember my words in the vehicle out back." "What? Your threat?" I asked turning back to him. "No, my promise." I clenched my jaw and quickly walked away.

Entering the main room of the agency, claps erupted around me. Laughing I shook my head and headed to my locker in the back. I put my things away and leaned my head against the cool metal. Jesus, relax Reese. You have absolutely nothing to worry about. I told myself this but something was off. I couldn't put my finger on it but something was way fucking off. I grabbed my things and exited the building tin a rush. I reached my car and got in.

Breathe Reese. Breathe. In. Out. In. Breathe just Breathe.

BOOM BOOM BOOM

I screamed and looked out my window. Trey. "CRAP!," I yelled beating my head against the steering wheel. Trey beat against the window again. I leaned back in my seat and ran my hands down my face before rolling down the window. "Yea, was sup?" I asked. "Well you left so damn fast I didn't get the chance to say congrats man! Listen I know what that guy said in the van freaked you out and all but don't think to much of it. He isn't going anywhere. He doesn't even know your name for Christ Sake!" he said leaning his head through the window smiling.

I laughed and nodded. "Yea, you're right. I'm just paranoid." Troy patted my head through the window and turned around and walked right back into the building. I rolled my window up and started my car. That's right Reese he doesn't even know your name! Calm do-

My breath caught in my throat as I remembered Mr. Moon's words.

"Wait, Mr. Parker. Before you leave I just wanted you to remember my words in the vehicle out back."

I turned my car back off and stared at the agency building while trying to keep my breathing under control.

How did Mr. Moon know my last name?
