My Boyfriend is a Vampire

Chapter Three

            “So is there something important you wanted to tell me babes? Cause I’m kind of worried. Are you breaking up with me?” I asked when we were finally given a seat in the restaurant, examining Rob’s expression carefully.

            “Is a guy not allowed to have a meal with his stunning girlfriend?” He noted, asking a rhetorical question I knew I wasn’t supposed to answer. “Even if he isn’t actually going to eat anything.” He murmured under his breath. I laughed. Rob leant over and kissed my lips suddenly yet gently, a soft, swift breeze drifting just over the top of my parted lips. Rob’s lips stayed on mine a little longer than usual; I noticed the couple next to us staring.

            “Do you think they’re jealous?” He whispered slowly into my ear, before getting comfortable back in his seat.  

            “What would you like to order?” The waiter interrupted. He had an extremely strong French accent, but he wasn’t talking or looking to me he was both to Rob though, my boyfriend. Was I that invisible? Because last time I checked I wasn’t wearing Harry Potter’s invisibility cloak!

            “I’m not ordering but a glass of water would be perfect. Thank you.” He answered. Alice?” Rob asked, gesturing his hand towards me, so that the waiter would collect my order.

            “I shrugged. I actually don’t mind.” I lied. Rob murmured something into the waiter’s ear; my mind assumed he was whispering because I couldn’t hear a thing. Rob really didn’t want me to hear his obviously surprise order.  He could be very persuasive when he wanted to be, but why was he handing the annoying waiter his car keys? As the waiter turned round to walk away. He scowled. At me.

            “Don’t worry about that waiter.” Rob reassured noticing my expression, pulling his chair closer towards mine so we were both sitting on one half of the round, wooden table. “Anyone who acts towards my Alice like that.” He was joking now, slowly patting his smooth, pale fists together and looking in the direction of the restaurant’s kitchen.

I had nearly finished my pizza, he hadn’t even touched his water, the

Three frozen ice cubes that had once sat and floated in the centre of Rob’s glass had already melted. Was it that fascinating watching me eat? Because my boyfriend obviously thought it was. O.K so I know I was gobbling down my pepperoni pizza like there was no tomorrow, but surely it couldn’t be that interesting to watch. Part of me was eating quickly for a reason, I felt bad because I knew that Rob didn’t like human food.

            “You picked my favourite!” I commented, swallowing the contents in my mouth before speaking aloud.

            “Um, I think I can tell.” He noted, pointing at the amount of food left on my plate. One piece of pepperoni. I quickly threw it in my mouth and nudged him, a humorous look spreading along his wide lips. “Here you go you might need this.” Rob passed me his tall glass of tap water. After putting his muscular arm up and asking for the check.

            “Thank you.” I giggled after swallowing and what was now an empty glass, (with no water) on the shining table. I looked over at Robert, he was in agony, pain, and his fingers were clinging, covering his forehead. “Oh my god. Rob are you alright?” He clearly wasn’t but I wouldn’t be surprised if he couldn’t answer my question. I would have got help or called the hospital, but him being a vampire and all, (might not be a good idea.) I reached out for one of his hands. “Everything’s going to be O.K I promise. Rob can you hear me?”  I stood up to help, our hands still clasped together like a lock. “Do you want me to drive you back to yours?”

“It’s O.K love, we can’t go!” He began, putting on his best smile. Getting a small bottle out from his right hand pocket and drinking the contents, what was it? “Look behind you.”
