Class seemed to last forever, and by the time the bell rang for lunch, I had thought we would be stuck in that classroom forever. I walked out of the classroom with Aiden right behind me, and I knew by his sigh of relief that he was as bored as I was.
"Is that class always like that?" He asked, implying that even though Mr. Hale is an awesome guy, he is the most boring teacher ever.
"Get use to it!" I said with a chuckle as I walked across the quad towards the cafeteria, Aiden following me. Yes, at times, I am a bit sassy.
"I thought you said you and your girly friends ate lunch outside?" Aiden asked as we walked into the crowded, loud cafeteria. I lead him over to the long lunch line, and we stood there as we waited to get our lunch.
I turned around and looked at him with a smile. "I have to get my lunch first. I suggest you get something to eat, unless you want to go hungry."
Aiden looked around, seeing that instead of us just standing around randomly, we were actually in the lunch line. His mind must have been somewhere else if he was missing that. "Oh." He said, and I just started laughing.

After we got our lunches, we walked out of the cafeteria and out towards the art room. From here, I could already see my group of friends sitting out by the trees. Me and Aiden were arguing about which of our lunches were better as we walked across the grass. I got a pizza slice while he got a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I was saying that my lunch was way better, but he had to argue that his was.
"No way!" I said as I sat down next to Scarlett, who greeted me with a smile and a hello.
Aiden went silent, standing there awkwardly as he looked at me, then at my friends. I had never taken him as shy, but I realized he was because he was new and knew noone. It just seemed to me that I had known him for a while. I didn't register that he was new.
"Oh yeah. Everyone, this is Aiden." I said as I pointed up to him, and then motioned for him to sit next to me. "He's new!"
He sat down, setting his bag and lunch down, and looked at everyone around him. I looked around too, glaring at everyone, silently telling them to introduce themselves.
"Oh. Hi, I'm Megan." Megan said as she strummed her guitar. Megan was our music loving friend. She loved singing and always had her guitar with her. She didn't look up at Aiden, but just smiled as she strummed a familiar song on her guitar.
"I'm Seth." Seth said, but with his mouth full, so it was quite hard to understand him. He was stuffing his face with his sandwich, like he did every day.
"I'm Laura. We have Geometry together." Laura said as she texted away on her phone, not even looking up at Aiden. Which surprised me, since she always had her eyes on the new boys.
"I'm Cody." Cody said, holding his hand out for Aiden to shake. Aiden did, but there was a sudden tension between them. I wasn't sure why, but somehow, I could just tell they didn't like each other. I don't know why, I thought they would be great friends once they got to know each other. Maybe they just needed some bonding time.
"And I'm Scarlett." Scarlett said as she leaned forward in front of my, ignoring the tension that the group had placed. "I'm Coco's best friend!" She emphasized the best friend part, which made me laugh. She gave him a warning glare, then smiled and went back to eating her lunch.
I wasn't sure why none of my friends were very welcoming. Normally, our group was very hyper and nice, and a new person always got us excited.
We spent the rest of lunch like we always do. Laura told us random gossip about people we didn't know or care about. Scarlett then countered it, by saying that she had heard something completely different, and then everyone argued about which part of it was true. Megan mostly just played her guitar and Aiden was unusually silent.
After the bell rang, we all stood up and said goodbye to each other. Everyone went their separate ways, me and Aiden having to walk all the way across campus to get to our classes.
"Coco!" Cody called out as we were walking away.
I turned around and saw him run up to me and Aiden.
"Want me to walk you to class?" He asked, smiling at me. I saw Aiden glaring at him, but I just smiled back.
"No thanks, our classes are way across campus." I said, and Cody frowned.
