I had just seen something that I shouldn't have, something that was meant only for the eyes of my third eldest brother (Jeremy) and my pathetic excuse for a step-father. I watched from my poorly thought out hiding spot in Jeremy's closet as it happened. And the worst part was, it was my fault:

Jeremy and I were sitting down on his bed playing video games in late February. My birthday had just passed and Jeremy seemed to find it funny that he could beat me in whatever games that he decided to pop in our Xbox 360. Of course he could! He was sixteen, I had just turned fourteen and they were his games! Today I was determined though; determined to kick his butt.

Jeremy's floppy brown hair fell cleanly over his left eye. He had assured me that he would get it cut in the next few days, and that was a week ago. Both of our eyes were focused on the game that I was currently annihilating him in. If I kept this up for a few more seconds then I would rain victorious! But most of all I would have bragging rights and being a girl with three older brothers meant that I definitely needed those. Of course I have two younger siblings (Ethan and Kayla) but they're eight and nine so I can't really establish bragging rights against them. I should probably start counting down the seconds until my victory.

"I'm gonna win Jer and there's nothing you can do about it" I taunted. I was going to win anyway so why not rub it in a little bit before hand right?

Four

"Ha, we'll see about that little sis" Jeremy had that devious look plastered on his face and nothing good ever came of that.

On-

"Eeepppp!" I squeaked as I threw my controller aside.

"And the winner is... Jeremy Harris!"

Jeremy yelled as he fist bumped the air in victory.

I glared holes into the left side of his head and tried to look as intimidating as possible as I shouted. "You jerk! That's not fair! You jabbed me in the side! I call a rematch!" Apparently Jer found this highly amusing because he was holding his stomach from laughing so hard. He only spoke after his laughter died down.

"What do you mean like this?" He replied before jabbing me again.

"Eeepppp! Ugh stop that! What's wrong with you! Uh, Jer what are you doing? Back up Jeremy. D-Don't look at me like that. Your not g-going to-" my rambling was cut off by him jabbing his fingers into my sides again.

"Ahahaha! Y-you haha s-sore hahaha loser!" I stuttered between laughs. The nerve of this guy!

"Aww is little Abby tickl-wish?" He cooed in an aggravating baby voice that he knew I hated.

"L-little haha Abby i-is haha going t-to c-connect hahaha her f-fist with y-your hahaha face!" I swear I'm going to punch him! What did he think he was doing?! He was supposed to lose! Fair and square.

"Hmm... Big talk for someone in your position. How about you just say that I won and you don't need a rematch?" Jeremy stopped for a moment to let me catch my breath and think about his offer.

"I swear Jer I'm going to-" I cut myself off when I heard a bagging sound in the kitchen accompanied by some swearing and yelling. Mom is going to kill Carter and Devon if they broke another vase. They're seventeen and eighteen years old, and trust me when I say that they know how to get themselves in trouble.
