I missed my friends already, and I hadn't even been away from them for more than five minutes.

My friends just got me through everything. School, family, and just life itself. And now, when I was going through the biggest thing that's ever happened in my life, they weren't going to be by my side. And I absolutely hated it more than anything.

Even more than I hated Claudia and Cassidy.

Well... that was just a maybe.

The second I stepped inside the school, it seemed that everyone shut up and just stared at me. I had never been good with attention on me... Especially when I didn't have anyone by my side to help me! Oh, what was I supposed to do? I had no idea!

"Look at that girl... What is she wearing?"

And that was the first thing I heard the second I stepped into Neverland Academy, and it made me want to turn around and run for my life while I still could. I knew that I was going to be judged, but I didn't think it would happen so soon... This was so unfair.

How was I supposed to know where the office was? There was no way I was going to ask someone, because everyone was staring at me right then like I was some type of freak.

Let me go home... Please let me go home!

I could already tell that this place was huge, which wasn't a good thing for me. If I got lost, there was absolutely nothing I could do because everyone was already judging me because of what I was wearing.

This was so not a good idea...

At this time, I really wished that my grades weren't as good as they were. It was my grades that had gotten me into this horrible unfair mess. It was obvious that I didn't want to be here, and it was pretty obvious that no one wanted me there as well.

I knew that this was a bad idea...

"Well, hello."

This voice caught me off guard so much that I almost jumped out of my skin. I didn't expect anyone to talk to me! And now, standing before me was a handsome boy with long brown hair and brown eyes. He was smiling at me, which just shocked me even more.

When I didn't say anything to acknowledge that I had heard him, the boy waved a hand in front of my face as he continued to grin. "Hello? Earth to new girl?"

I blinked at him, still not really believing that he was actually talking to me. Why would someone like him be talking to a girl like me?

"Um, sorry," I apologized, not knowing what else I could have said to him. I looked up at his forehead to see a tiny but noticeable scar. I wonder what that was from... "I, um, didn't see you?"

I hated that it sounded like a question. He probably thought I was some kind of stupid idiot now.

"It's okay," he continued to smile, pulling his backpack strap higher onto his shoulder a little. "You just seem really familiar to me. I'm Chris, by the way."

Now that I thought about it, he looked really familiar to me as well. But where could I have seen him before...?

"Ivy," I introduced, sticking out a hand for him to shake. He grabbed it, shaking so hard that I thought he might dislocate my shoulder. "And, uh, yeah... I'm new."

Wow, what a stupid thing to say! Of course I was new! I was obviously new! I wasn't wearing the uniform and I had no idea where to go!

Chris chuckled. "Yeah, I figured that."

I could only nod, still not knowing what I was supposed to say. Not only was an attractive guy speaking to me on the first day of school, but he was actually laughing! That never happened to me before ever, not once in my life! If you couldn't tell, I wasn't exactly an expert on guys...
