Head buzzing with stifling heat and vodka
Smoke inflates my lungs like an invisible corset
The leather clad Adonis emerges from the haze
Touching my arm with an 1000 volt shock
I open and close my mouth like a goldfish
Awestruck by the aphrodisiac smell of brill cream
His warm hands smell of sweet tobacco and sweat
And his taste is sugared almonds and vodka
My veins exploding with adrenalin, my stomach a rollercoaster
A voice in my ear whispers, ‘His fiancee’s coming’
A squeeze, from the hand holding mine, pulls me from behind the pillar
‘Are you ok?’
I look back into those trusting sea green eyes
And say, ‘Yeh… get me another vodka?’
