Part 1: No! You Aren’t Supposed To Be Here
The light around you flashed and you felt a warm glow mixed in with the pain of your inside being ripped apart and then put back together all in one second. When you opened your eyes you knew exactly where you were. You also knew exactly what buttons to press and what levers to move and exactly when to do it.
It was a dangerous but fairly simple mission and you were pretty sure nothing would go wrong but you'd been dealing with this stuff long enough to know that anything could happen at any time.
That’s when a red alarm started to sound and you knew that if you didn’t act now this ship would explode and take a whole planet with it. You ran over to the ship’s console and started pushing buttons. That’s when you heard yelling and running down a ways. This ship was supposed to be abandoned.
You looked up to see a tall thin crazy haired man running in the console room. No, you thought.
He ran over to the console “Hi,” He yelled, “I’m the Doctor and you might want to get out of here bef-”
“No! No, no, no, no!” You yelled out in frustration.
He didn’t know you which would mess with time and everything because you hadn’t met each other yet, well at not from his point of view! You kept yelling no and pacing then you said, “Great! Just great, this was supposed to be an easy going assignment but then you!” You pointed and accusing finger at him. “Show up and now it’s a lot more complicated!”
“Its okay.” He said calmly, “I can help and then I’ll be gone and out of your hair in a flash.” You kept pacing and freaking out trying to figure out what to do in your head. He came over to you and turned you toward him and looked you in the eye, “Look at me, its going to be fine.”
For a second you believed him. His familiar brown eyes made you think of all the fun and crazy times you had spent with him. All the times he had saved your life and vise versa. But then you remember he can’t remember you! “No! Don’t look at me.” You backed away from him. “Don’t look!”
“Ok,” He said turning around with a look on his face saying that he thought you were crazy.
That’s when a blonde young girl ran in the room. Her hair was short and her eyes were lined with thick eyeliner to strengthen her appearance.
It was Rose Tyler and it looked like this was her early years before she’d been to the parallel universe. “Oh, great and now Rose!” You yelled. The Doctor had turned back to the ships control panel. He had already started working on stopping the ship from exploding.
“Good Rose, could you pass me that devise on the slab over there with the blue wires.” He didn’t look up from what he was doing, just pointed.
“How do you know my name?” She asked looking at you.
“Wait, yeah how do you know her name?” The Doctor turned around giving you a curious look. One eyebrow was raised and his tongue was on the roof of his mouth showing his wonder.
Rose looked confused but not scared. She knew if anything happened the Doctor would be there to help her.
“Well…I…I’m…” You starred at him for a second as he put the pieces together. Almost got it…
“Oh!” he yelled, “Your…” he trailed off. There it was.
“She ‘s what?” Rose asked a little angry that she had been left out.
“I’m from your future.” You said with a nervous laugh and a shrug of the shoulders.
“Oh! That makes much more sense. I thought you were a fan.” The Doctor said. You gave him a look and then remembered what you were here for in the first place. The ship was going to explode any moment. You ran to the console and started to push levers and buttons as fast as possible. The Doctor watched you. “What are you doing?”
“If I reverse and re twist the ship’s main energy fuel source then it will redirect away from the planet below and power the ship at the same time.” You said it with ease. You had thought of the plan as soon as you were informed of the problem.
“But… but that’s…” He stopped and thought about it for a second, “Brilliant!” He explained.
“Yep, and that’s not the first time you’ve said that to me.” You felt an amused smirk slip on your face.
Seeing the Doctor so young was fun. It was before all the horrible things had happened…before the loss of his friends. There were no lines of stress and pain on his face. His eyes were bright and filled with the curious chaos that always got him in trouble. And there was always a smile on his face showing his cocky attitude.
