Like fire and rain
You can drive me insane
But I can't stay mad at you for anything
We're Venus and  Mars
We're like different stars
But you're the harmony to every song I sing
And I wouldn't change a thing

"Way to go Kaydie!"

"You guys were awesome"

"I'm so glad that you won"

"It's about time somebody put Candice in her place!"

"Thank you" I smiled at a short, brunette girl that I vaguely recognised that had approached me to tell me that her and her friends would be rooting for my squad at the Nationals.

The Monday morning after the cheer off  I could barely walk two steps at school without somebody coming up to me to congratulate me.

It was frickin' amazing!

Continuing down the hallway, my smile grew when I saw who was stood beside my locker.

Liam.

As the familiar butterflies danced wildly inside me, I wondered whether there would ever come a time that they would cease to appear whenever he was around.

I certainly hoped not.

"Captain Kaydie" he greeted me, a lopsided smile adorning his handsome face.

Instead of speaking, I simply looped my arms round his neck and planted a soft kiss on his lips. I could feel him smiling against my own and I couldn't help but mirror his actions.

We must have looked like a pair of freakin' Cheshire Cats.

"So why are you here?" I asked when I'd pulled away, "Not that I'm complaining"

Liam never waited around for me at school in the morning.

"Is it illegal to want to see you?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

It most certainly was not, in fact it was sweet that he was waiting for me - like I'd said, I definitely was not complaining.

We'd hung out a lot at the weekend and things had seemed sort of different.

A good different.

Fridays heavy make out session was still fresh in my mind and it seemed like every touch and look from Liam had me tingling in anticipation. He'd always elicited a reaction from me anyway, but this was definitely different. I couldn't help but think that the fact Liam had admitted that he wanted to sleep with me had something to do with it.

It was the kind of giddy feeling that you get when you know that something major is going to happen soon.

A feeling of both excitement and fear.

Over the weekend we'd just seemed so much more in sync and content in each others company; I'd practically had to restrain myself from admitting to him that I loved him.

I wasn't sure what was the ideal time and place to tell him was, it just didn't feel like it was right now. I didn't want to scare him away with any overdramatic proclamations.

"Llloyd rang me last night" Liam told me, tucking a piece of my hair behind my ear. "He wanted to know when we're going to visit him again"

He'd sounded almost proud when he said that to me.

"I'd love to visit him soon" I said honestly.

A loud laugh echoed around us and my eyes narrowed when they landed upon Jasper. He was leaning against the lockers opposite mine; Brian and a few others from the football team were stood beside him.
