“Goodbye then Lydia, keep in touch please” My mum said begging me with her eyes to be good. “Yes Lydia any misbehaving and you will regret it” My dad says while standing and walking to the door. “Oh, don’t worry Mr. and Mrs. Lovegood; I’m sure Lydia will be alright.” Mrs. Waterbucks got out of her comfy looking chair and ushered them out “Goodbye Lydia” said my Mum, I didn’t say anything but looked grumpily at my lap. She sniffed and walked out. Mrs. Waterbucks shut the door and came over to me. “Now Lydia, I hope you’re not going to be any trouble, my school keeps high standards. I also hope to keep it that way”. I looked up at her, I was going to be her favourite, and I’ll make sure of that.
As I walked out I looked at the map I had been given by Mrs. Waterbucks and sighed, I was going to get lost for sure. I found out I was in form 11 LP and my teacher was Mr. Pierce. Sounds wonderful, I thought as I followed the groundskeeper to my class which happened to be Drama. I was ace at Drama, as you probably already guessed. I smiled to myself; maybe this isn’t going to be as bad as I thought. The moment I stepped into the Drama room, which was huge by the way, my smile faded and I hung my head. Every single girl in that room turned and looked at this stranger who was interfering with their lesson. Next to me the Groundskeeper cleared his throat “Girls, this is Lydia Lovegood. Please make her feel welcome and show her what you are doing at the moment because she may be a little lost”. Great, I thought while twisting my fingers nervously, Thank you Mr. Jackson I’m really going to make friends when you make me sound like a wuss.
Chapter 2
I actually felt happy after Drama it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I also met someone called Alyson. She is really nice and was happy to show me around now it was Lunchtime. So she showed me around and I have to admit, the school is massive! I mean it, I know I’m going to get lost, but hopefully I will have made a friend. Alyson is great, she shows me around and I think the lessons are ok. I saw that girl, you know the one I saw through the window, and she came over to me at Lunchtime. Alyson and me were just talking when she came over, and sat down next to me. “So you’re the new girl then?” and without waiting for me to reply she said “I’m Maddie Brooks and under no circumstances do you cross me, understand?” I glared at her how dare she? How dare she come and tell me what to do! I looked at her and replied “I’m not really bothered who you are but lets get one thing straight shall we?” Maddie looked at me mockingly “Under no circumstances” I say using her words “does anyone, especially you Maddie Brooks, tell me what to do!” Maddie looked taken back; no one had ever spoken back to her before. With as much dignity as she could, Maddie walked out of the dining hall.
After lunch I had German, how boring at least it was last period and I could go to my dorm. I’m glad I’m sharing my dorm with Alyson, now I know two people.
When Alyson and me got to our dorm, she stopped and took me too one side. “I know your new and everything but just try not to hang in the background, our dorm is very… how can I say this… lively, so just be yourself”. Alyson smiled at me and walked inside, I just stood there for a moment wondering why she had said that but then I guess, I would find out. I sighed and walked in, closing the door behind me. I looked up and there were five pairs of eyes on me that I didn’t recognize. “Everyone this is Lydia she’s new but you should have seen her in the dining hall, Maddie Brooks was so embarrassed” she said with a grin. The other girls looked at me, a small brown haired girl with bunches stepped forward, smiled and said “hi I’m Natalie, nice to meet you; it’s good you stood up to her she’s awful”. Then she stood back and got on with her unpacking. A tall black girl stepped forward “Hiya, I’m Trisha and you’ll get used to the madness around here” I smiled back at her,
