Steph's POV

I was running, running, running.

Where to I didn't know. But someone was behind me and my inner soul told me not to slow down, but to go faster. I ran as hard as my eight year old body would let me...

Hold on......eight????????

Just like that I sat bolt upright in the car, breaking out of yet another nightmare.

Jake was looking at me with concern.

"Just a nightmare," I squeaked, "It's always the same nightmares,"

He looked stunned for a minute, then asked, "What happened?"

"I was running away from my stepdad. Except the dream takes place before he married my mum. When he was only dating her."

"He was chasing me through the house, outside and then down to the basement. I always get scared at this part, because I realise there isn't another exit. I had trapped myself in."

"I turn around and the last thing I see is my stepdad's bloodshot eyes and then I black out," I shivered. Jake looked as hard as stone.

"But it's only a dream. Just it looks so real!"

Still Jake sat stone still.

"Whatever!" I thought to myself and put in a new movie to start watching.




Jake's POV

I knew the truth

They erased her memory
