Chapter Four
It was a cosy, but snowy night in Sola. Carrie, Reilly, Edmund, Larina and their two children Samantha and Cobe were all sitting around the table in the kitchen, drinking from the soup Larina made. It was Lancus-soup, made from the Lancus plant. It grew only in the sector of the UHAS', and had a delicious taste.
"I'd expect Lee every moment here..." Edmund said, but got interrupted by the doorbell. He stood up and walked to the door. He turned the handle and pulled the door open. A woman dressed in casual clothing stood in front of the opening. She had black hair and a pale skin: Head Operative Jamil Lee, known as the true leader of the United Human Alliance.
"Hi Edmund!" She smiled, and walked inside. She hung her coat on a rack and walked to the kitchen. Everyone looked up to her. Everyone stood up from the table, except Carrie. She stared with big eyes to the leader of the whole UHA. She hugged Larina and her kids, and shook hands with Reilly, like he knew her for years.
"Carrie, this is Head Operative Jamile Lee..." He said, while he looked to Carrie. She was still staring at her. Jamil gave Carrie a hand, who stood up. "You can just call me Jamil, Reilly has just a habit for saying my whole name...".
As everyone continued to drink their soup, Jamil joined them and drank from her soup. Miraculous enough, she was the first to finish her soup.
"So, how are things?" Reilly asked.
"Things are crap, especially with Gloria McMurdo now in command of "her" ministry squad. Don't unsterstand why she won the elections at all, she's probably the most infamous of all ministers." Jamil said.
When everyone was finished with their soup, Jamil, Carrie, Reilly and Edmund headed for the basement, their secret HQ for the resistance. Edmund turned on a switch, and the wall in front of them shove into the the other walls, making a connection with the hallway behind it. The first thing they saw was a ripped flag, bearing the logo of the resistance. As they walked further, they came into a sort of labatory. They all stood around a table, waiting for instructions.
"Well Carrie, show it to Jamil now." Edmund said. Reilly grabbed the cilinder from his jacket and gave it to Carrie, who opened it. Jamil had a sort of PDA in her hand, which had a slot on the upper side, wide enough to put the chip in. As she inserted the chip, loads of data appeared on the screen. She laid down the PDA on the table and it showed a hologram of the text above it.
As Jamil began to speak the text: "The XT-537 or "peacemaker" program is a experimental program developed by Ursae Technologies, to create a virus that would create peacefulness across the systems, wiping out local conflicts. The predecessor of the XT-537, the XT-536, was widely tested at the 22th of February 2156 on Destiny, a colony is the Piscus Kappa system. This program resulted on a critical failure, mutating all inhabitants of Destiny. The current XT-537 is improved to be safe, but this is not fully sure. This will be tested at the 12th of November, 2162 on the worlds of Legacy, Sarmen, Tremble, Osent and Vogus. Any further planets will follow soon."
