***DAY THREE***
I woke up from hearing loud bashing noises coming from the back of the barn. "Oh no."- I whispered. "Are they here? Did they find us?"- I continued. I turned to see if Layla and Emily were up. Layla was sleeping, but Emily was gone. She wasn't in the barn. I got up and woke Layla. "What's wrong Ivy?"-she said as she rubbed her right eye. "Listen..."- I told her. We stood there for a moment, then we heard a l moaning noise comming from outside. Layla's skin turned pale. She looked to her left, then to her right. "Where's Emily?"- she asked. I looked towards the noise. "I don't know..." We heard another loud scratching sound that made my skin crawl. "Come on. We don't have time. We gotta kill whatever's outside."- I said.
I ran to my bag and got out the riffle and the pistol."Here, take this." I threw the pistol towards her. When the pistol was safely in her hands, we went towards to loud noises. We noticed that one of the windows that had been boarded up was now de-boarded. We decided to use that window to get in and out of the barn. I went out of the barn first and Layla was right behind me. I looked to my left and there they were, about a 100 feet away from us. There were three of them and it seemed like they were occupied with something. I lifted my gun and aimed it at one of their heads. "Bang..." The bullet sliced through the air and went straight through one of the zombie's heads. In a split second, the creature fell to the floor, bleeding, motionless, dead. The other two turned their heads awkwardly to face me and Layla. They started moving one limb at a time towards us. Layla freaked out and started shooting at them without aiming. She was screaming at the top of her lungs, cursing at them. She managed to kill one, but she wasted a lot of ammunition. I looked at her. "Now, did you really need to use 200 bullets for one zombie?"- I asked. "They walked so weird, it freaked me out.....so I kinda got scared and used up all my ammo, hee hee, sorry..."- she said. I rolled my eyes and looked at the last remaining one. This one was a big disfigured man. "Crap..."
I began firing at the beast. The bullets went through him, but he continued walking towards us. I started to get nervous, I aimed the riffle at the zombie but, before I could even shoot, a butcher knife sliced through the beast's skull. The creature fell to its' knees, then fell head first onto the ground. I heard a faint sound coming from where the infected were before we attacked. It was Emily. She was the one who threw the kife."EMILY!!!"- I screamed. We ran to her and sat next to her. She had multiple bit marks on her left arm and her shirt was bloody. "Oh God...."- Layla said. "What happend!?" ---"I heard.... them. They were.... scratching on... the window. I thought I could take them.... all on my own....but...I couldn't."- she said faintly. "You idoit...."- I replied. My eyes began to water and tears rolled down my cheeks. "WHY WOULD YOU DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT!!! WE'RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER REMEMBER!!!!"---"W-wait...wait!! Ivy look! Something's happening to her..."- Layla said. I took two steps back. It looked as if she were choking on something, then she began to cough up blood. "Oh God, we gotta do something!"- Layla whispered. "N-no!....you....an-and Ivy, needa....get out....of he-here...now....before I become...one...of them..."- Emily said. After a moment of silence, Layla grabbed my arm. "She's right. If we wanna survive, we gotta go now!" With the last few seconds she had left, Emily smiled and said, "Go get 'um..."
Layla and I used the window to get inside the barn. We quickly got everything and used it to climb back out. When we got out, Emily was still on the floor, but she was turning into an infected. "Hurry! This way!"- I said. Layla followed me. We ran as fast as we could for 10 minutes. When I looked back, the barn was a little crimson dot. We stopped for a minute to catch our breath. I looked back at the barn and I began to weep. I fell to my knees and completely brokedown on the side of the narrow street. Layla sat down next to me, and leaned my head on to her shoulder. She tried comforting me. "Emily wouldn't have wanted you to cry. She would've wanted you to fight and avenge her. Don't pity her when she's already one of them, instead, fight for her, and Charity, and Jade, and everyone else. We still gotta plan, now lets follow it. We are already half way there. Please....don't cry Ivy."
