For fourty days
And fourty nights
I lay under the stars
Searching for
Something more
Maybe Jupiter, or Mars.
I lie awake
And searching
Into dark and distal space
Hoping,
Praying,
That I'm not so out of place.
Then a flashing light
Stunning, bright,
Streaks across the sky
This beautiful
Spectacle
Amazes even I.
Now one
After another,
The stars begin to fall.
Entranced,
Romanced,
I can hardly think at all.
As minutes
Turn to hours,
I fall more and more in love,
Forgetting
My troubles
As the stars fall from above.
