Gabby slammed her locker and sighed. "Evelyn, you have to go to Chris's party tonight! It's going to be the best one this year!"
I rolled my eyes and closed my locker. "You said the exact same thing last time he threw a party."
"Whatever." Gabby said as we started walking out to our cars. "Point is, you need to come tonight! I'll come over in an hour and we'll do each other's hair and make-up and pick out some sexy outfits."
I shook my head. "Parties aren't my thing."
And that was true. I have never, in all my years of high school-three to be exact- have never gone to a single party. Gabby, on the other hand, has gone to every party imaginable. We're total opposites but the best of friends. It's always been that way. Gaby, the wild, care-free, party-goer. Me, Evelyn, the shy, smart, miss goody-two-shoes.
"Ryan's going to be there!" Gabby smiled. "I know he likes you. He's so going to chill with you at the party tonight... if you even go." She paused. "Plus, you could lose your v-card."
I sighed and shook my head again. "What part of no do you not understand, Gabby?!" I laughed. "You go and have fun without me. I'm going to study.
Gabby gave me a look. "Your studying tonight when you could be at the most awesome party of the year?! You're such a dork, Evelyn!"
"I don't care! I'm not going!" I exclaimed.
Gabby shrugged, said goodbye, and got into her car. I smiled to myself and found my car. I accidentally hit the alarm button instead of the unlock button. I jumped and quickly scrambled to lock my car and make it shut up.
My crush, Ryan, walked over to me and smiled. "Hey, Evelyn, everything alright?"
I nodded. My cheeks felt warm. I had an odd feeling that I was turningred right now. "Everything's fine, thanks for asking."
"Good, good." He flipped his blonde hair and his deep green eyes gazed into my baby blue eyes. "So, are you going to Chris's party tonight? I heard it was going to be stellar!"
I shrugged. "Um, I don't think so. Parties aren't exactly my thing."
Ryan nodded and looked down. "Oh, that's cool. I was just wondering if you wanted to go with me, but that's fine. Never mind."
"No, no. It's OK. I'll go." I smiled. "My friend Gabby was begging me and... Yeah, I'll go with you!"
Ryan smiled. His teeth were pearly white and perfectly straight. Damn, he was hot! "Cool, I'll pick you up at seven."
"Seven." I agreed.
"Later." He waved as I got into my car.
I shut my door and then completely flipped out. I, Evelyn Rogers, was going to the party of the year, supposedly, with Ryan Sutton, a.k.a. Mr. Popularity. I immediately dug my phone out of my bag and called Gabby. "Be over at my house in an hour! I'm going to that party, bitch!"
"Why'd you change your mind?" Gabby asked excitedly.
"Ryan asked my to go with him!" I screeched.
Gabby gasped. "Oh my god! I totally called it!"
I laughed. "Hurry up and get your ass to my house! I want to look hot!"
"Sure thing!" She replied.
I smiled to my self as I pulled out of the student parking lot. "He's picking me up at seven."
"Oh, Evelyn!" Gabby gushed. "You're growing up so fast! This is your first party. Your first date! And your going to get it down with Ryan tonight, if you know what I mean."
"Yes, I always know what you mean, Gab." I groaned. "Stop being so dirty."
Gabby giggled.
"I have to go. Don't want to get into a car accident." I said. "Bye."
"Be over soon!" Gabby said then hung up.
I drove myself home then waited for Gabby to come over. Man, this was going to be the night of my life!
