The mother: Glowing with pride I leave my daughter to rest; she is often exhausted now; the pregnancy has changed her boldly. Her tummy has already started to grow as does the child inside. She is so happy; this child will bring her husband such pleasure. The heat is intolerable at this time of year; I lean out of an open window to try and coax a breeze onto my skin. In the distance I see my daughter wobbling away from the house, her arms entwined with another woman's.
The bride: I had to do it; I had to get out. My belly had been swelling repulsively for weeks and I hated the idea of trapping my child in the same incarceration. We had to leave.
The lover: I've saved her, I've saved my love. We will raise the child as our own in a place were there is no prejudice, in a place we can be proud.
