Chapter VII

-James-

My mind was completely a blur tonight. I don't know what should I think. Added to that the annoyance I've been feeling hours ago and the hurt I've been feeling. Why would Zach kept a secret from me? I mean, I know I'm a bit over reacting. But the thing is, he and I are friends, right? I'm not mad at him, well more like I'm disappointed that he didn't trust me enough for him to share his sercrets. And why would Henry conive with that? He knew that above from being not truthful, keeping secrets from me was what I hated the most. I know how it feels when someone kept a secret from you when everyone knew what's happening except you. I hate it when someone hide things from me since that day when that certain someone lied, betrayed, and hid a secret from me.

I called Zach to meet me on this park near his house. Though I feel guilty for disturbing his slumber, I have the eagerness to talk to him right now. He might think I'm crazy, being annoyed that I wasn't the first one he told me about his talent. Right now, I'm thinking how to brought up that idea. I have a plan though if my tongue got all tied up. I have brought with me a guitar, just to make sure.

Waiting here, it makes me sober enough to clear out things before Zach arrived. It's so quiet here, it's calming just with the noise coming from the fountain at the center of the park as it flows up and down its pipes. I spent more minutes just looking at it until someone called my attention.

"Hey!" Zach's voice echo in the surrounding. He smiles while walking toward my direction. He wears a grey jacket under it is a white sando, and a grey sweat pants. Under the light of the moon he looks beautiful. I don't know maybe it's the alcohol that made me think about it.

"Hey," I replied and forced a smile. When he was inches away from me, I appologized again for waking him up. "Sorry for calling you out so late."

"I told you it's ok."

"Still -"

"Still... I said it's fine if it's important why woul I not come?" He said chuckling and eyed me curiosly. "You drunk?" I nodded. He looked at the park and asked, "So what do you want to talk about or to do?"

I look at him, at his hazel colored eyes. He looked so innocent. He doesn't even have any idea that I just thought he betrayed me, our friendship. I just met him but inside me is a voice that tells me that I should keep this person, that this person is special. Though I felt betrayed, I just can't make myself hate him. I motioned to the fountain and he followed and there we sat.

As James and Zach sat there, Zach watched the other guy next to him with curiosity. He can't help but wonder as James stare at the shining and shimmering view of the moon and stars looking glum. What happened to him? Zach asked himself. He didn't have a single clue. Maybe that is why he wanted his company right now. But why not called Henry, Victor or perhaps Duncan? Why him? It's not like they had build a strong bond in their friendship already, the fact that they'd just met a few weeks ago, two weeks to be exact. But he felt happy that he chose him to accompany him tonight. Still he can't figure what was bothering James. "It's beautiful, isn't it?"

James just nodded. Usually if Zach would asked him things that's going on to him, he had the energy to tell endless tales that happened that day, though right now was an exception. He can tell that Zach was also curious the way he acted and responded. He is still thinking. Although Zach was already there he's still can't summon the courage to confront the guy beside him. Only the continous flow of the water from the fountain and the sound of the crickets are the source of noise arounf them.
