Hopeless, Helpless, my Desire (a poem)

0

HOPELESS, HELPLESS, MY DESIRE
(just a poem that came to me)

Hopeless, helpless, my desire
Holding on, becoming tired
Waiting, watching for a sign
Praying, hoping, forever blind

Underneath this quiet mask
A knowledge you will never ask
Passing time and dying heart
The end has come before the start

My dreams are haunted, flying high
Holding hands beneath the sky
The wind blows strong across my face
Pulling me from your embrace

You disappear on silent wings
Cold, unfeeling, ugly things
I do not ask where you will go
For I fear I'd hate to know

Her airy hands invite you in
Begging to steal your heart again
They twist and turn like ribbons play
Wasting, lying love away
