Dinner with a vampire. Did I mention I'm vegetarian?
Ok, so i am taking a break from serious novel writing to write some lighthearted stuff about the drip drip dripping of blood. Yup, you guessed it, Vampires!!! (Hey, we all love 'em, there's no denying that!) Just going to see how this goes, so comment, rate, read, enjoy! Thanks, Canse12 P.s would like to thank my friend Jaz for helping me realize it was ok to stop writing my other stories for a bit, and also for helping me come up with the title. That was some seriously creative ten minutes. =-D The songs here are just some songs I love, that sum up the feel of the chapter. Kinda. More I just love them. But hey, if you feel like it, listen to the second one down as you read, (you may have to play it more than once to reach the end of the chapter) and the intro one, well it's just a great intro to anything. Yes I am an Iron Maiden fan =) I am gonna shut up now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRzbwFdu1rc (Bleed by Evanescence. The theme tune XD) HYPERLINK "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THlJoRSsPWY" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THlJoRSsPWY [Iron Maiden Rock in Rio intro (Arthur's Farewell)] HYPERLINK "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8zfE2bjf7Q" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8zfE2bjf7Q (Solo in The Nomad by Iron Maiden 4:34 onwards) Trafalgar Square is probably not the best place to stand at 1 o'clock in the morning. And definitely not the best place to be if you are totally alone. My name is Violet Lee. And i was stood in the shadow of Nelsons Column, Trafalgar Square, London, shivering as the supposed warm air of July blew threw the square. I pulled my coat tighter around myself, regretting wearing my slinky black dress. Sheesh. The sacrifices i made for clubbing. I glanced about, scanning the empty streets for any sign of my friends. So much for getting a late night snack. They had been gone for 20 minutes now, and i knew the sushi bar was only a two minute walk away. I rolled my eyes. No doubt they were in some guys pants by now, getting laid. Well, good for them, i mean, its ok, they don't have to worry about little old Violet. No- really, they didn't. You see, i was a Londoner. Don't laugh, i am! Born and raised in London, i knew exactly what the dangers were. And how to avoid them. I mean, like here. Its streetlight, floodlit, there are lots of major roads nearby, and they were so many take away places round here, you wouldn't have to run for long before reaching them. Stupidly safe. Or so i thought. I walked over to the benches sheltered by the trees. Being seventeen-almost-eighteen was great, until your friends ditched you. I thought of my favourite thought to try and cheer myself up. In September i was off to university. Oxford university. Oxford freedom as far as i was concerned. Oh, and by the way. I'm not a geek, just a quick thinker. I pulled out my mobile, and hit speed dial. It seemed to ring forever, before the answer phone cut in. "Hi, this is Ruby. I can't answer right now, so leave a message after the tone. Lovage." I sighed, frustrated. Beep went the tone. "Ruby, where the heck are you? If you are down that guy's trousers, i swear i will kill you! Its bloody freezing out here! Soon as you get this, call back." I slid down my phone, and slipped it into the inside pocket of my coat. I sat there for a few more minutes, drawing my knees up to my chest, trying to keep warm. Pathetic excuse for July this was. It was eerily quiet. Something flickered in the corner of my eye. I looked up, scanning the square for any sign of movement. Nothing. I shook my head. Probably just a bird. But no. Something definitely moved then. A shadow had passed across one of the huge fountains, almost to quick for my eye to see. But there was nothing there. My eye lingered on Nelson's Column. I could have sworn there was something on the top. Besides Nelson that is. The light that lit Nelson up blinked out for a second, a second, but it definitely had. My heart quickened, and i sensed danger. I slipped off my heels, and tensed, ready to run. I ain't gonna take no chances. I would have ran, right then. But something rooted me in my spot. Descending the stairs were a gang of men, all wearing trench coats and hats and- no joke, carrying stakes. It looked like something out of a Van Helsing movie. The man at the front barked something inaudible, and the men spread out, creating a line as wide as the square. There must have been at least thirty of them.
