Memories

Everyone had left two hours later after we got back home as we started to settle down from today's events. My arm wasn't broken but it was bruised and I had to keep an ice pack on it from the hospital back to Misha's place.

We were sitting on the couch checking my arm for the last time before I left when Misha pulled out a box. “I have been wanting to give you this but I didn't know how since I didn't know how you felt about me. Now that I know I think you should have it now.”

I tried to stay calm as he held a box up to me and opened up to show me a silver chain that had a silver puzzle piece on it. “Oh my god, it's beautiful,” I said as he took the necklace out and put it on for me.

“I have been looking for the missing piece to my heart and I found it, the day I saved you on the streets and you first met me with blue hair,” he laughed as he pulled back to look at the necklace on me. “You look great,” he said as he held my face in his right hand and lend in for a kiss. “I have been wanting to do that for so long,” he smiled as he pulled away for a second and then our lips met again.

…....... …...... …......

Misha's point of view a year later

“How are you doing today?” Kaitlin asked as she walked into the room. I was sitting next to Nicole's hospital bed reading over my lines while Jared and Jensen were off taping their scenes. “Good,” I said as I shot the laptop and stood up to give her my chair. “What's the update?” I asked as I brushed the hair out of Nicole's face and looked at the necklace that I had just given her the night this all started.

“She's still the same, brain activity is all the same and her lungs are still cancer free,” she said. It was amazing how after all she had been through that her lung cancer had some how disappeared. “Oh, your mom called and said not to forget to go by your grandfather's room. He has something to give you for your mom,” Kaitlin added as she pulled out her phone and texted Clair.

“Thanks, I'll go and get it now since you are back,” I turned to leave and walked down the hall to my grandfather's room. He had had a mini stroke and it wasn't looking good. After spending almost everyday here by Nicole's side I have gotten use to the hospital smell and all of the commotions. Almost ever doctor and nurse knew my name not because I am famous but because I’m always here.

“Hey,” I said as I walked in. He looked like hell and he wasn't afraid to show it, he knew when his time would come and it looked like he knew that it was coming soon. “Mom says you have something for her,” I said as I sat beside him.

“Yes I do,” he said as he pointed to a pile of papers next to his bed. “How is your angel doing?” he asked once I had the papers together in my lap.

“Same thing for the past six months, noting new. Afraid that she will never wake up,” I said looking at the papers in my lap. He reached out to me and made me look up as he started to talke.

“She's breathing by herself right?”

“Yes, ever since last month,” I answered.

“Do you believe that God would take her from you after everything that has happened?”

“I would hope not,” I said as doctors rushed by the room. “Her brain was so swollen that she might not even remember me or would have to go through so much therapy.”

“Why does that all matter? As long as you still love her there's always a chance that one day you could make her remember. Stay by her side and in the future she can tell your future kids how you never gave up on her,” he said as he pulled his hand away and close his eyes.

“Have a good nap,” I said as he's breathing began to leave out. I stood up and started to head back to Nicole's room. As I was walking I looked through the papers to see what they were all about. According to the papers he was giving us his farm house in Georgia, Mom would love that since she has complained about the city for the past year since Nicole's accident.

As I got closer to Nicole's room I realized that the doctors from earlier where running to her room. I picked up my speed and had to jump out of the way of two different people. I rushed in and ran into Kaitlin's back. Nicole was sitting up in bed looking scared and confused.

“How is she Doctor?” I asked walking farther into the room. She turned to me and I saw a look in her eyes that said that she thought I was cute but was scared of me.

“All of the signs are good, we just need to check her memory,” the doctor said moving to make way for me. By the look on her face she doesn't remember me. “Ask her some questions she would know the answer to.”

I sat down by her and reached for her hand. She didn't pull away but kept looking everywhere. “I think she needs some space,” I said looking over my shoulder. All but one doctor left and Kaitlin walked over to the other side of the bed.

“Where am I? Who are you?” Nicole asked looking at our hands together and at Kaitlin next to her.

“I'm Kaitlin, we are great friends. I’m your boyfriend's sister,” she said pointing at me.

“You're my boyfriend? How did that happen?” Nicole asked making me laugh.

“You were running down the street one day and almost got hurt but I saved you,” I said, leaving out most of the details so that she wouldn't get over worked.

“I'm sorry but I need to ask some questions,” the doctor said from behind me. “Do you remember your name?”

“Nicole,” she said as the doctor took notes.

“Do you remember anything else?” I asked.

“No, sorry. Wish I could help,” she said as she began to fall asleep.

“You should go call her family and other friends, she needs her rest,” the doctor said as we are made to leave the room.

No matter what, I'll won't give up on her. I have kept her safe so far and now it's my job to help get her back.
