Secret Existence (A Harry Potter Fanfic)

The next day we of course visited Hermione first, but then someone came and told me Dumbledore wanted to see me.

I walked into his office, “I swear I didn’t do anything.”

Dumbledore laughed, “I’ll talk about that later. I wanted to thank you for my Christmas gift.”

“Yours was way cooler, but you told Harry you wanted socks,” I smiled.

Dumbledore also smiled before his face got serious, “Now about Miss Granger.”

“What about it?” I asked,

“What actually happened?” He asked.

I shrugged, “She claims she was practicing a transfiguration spell. Harry, Ron, and I were taking turns playing chess so we were all awake.”

“Thing is I don’t see how she could have made such a large error,” Dumbledore said.

I raised an eyebrow, “Are you accusing me of something?”

“Not at all, I’m saying there is more to what happened and I think you know,” He said.

I shook my head, “I don’t. Anything else?”

“You should go visit Professor Snape,” Dumbledore smiled. I rolled my eyes and nodded.

“Snape,” I said walking into the dungeons.

He came out, “Hello Sky.”

“Can I help you? Dumbledore said you wanted to see me,” I asked.

He smiled, “Thank you for your gift. Don’t think it’ll keep you out of trouble.”

“Why does everyone assume I’m causing trouble all the time?” I asked.

“Because we have reason to believe it,” He said. “Now go and have fun.” Didn’t have to tell me twice, I ran out of their like a bat out of hell.

*************

A few days had passed and we were visiting Hermione. She was hiding a card from the Git. Yes he’d written her a get well card. “Does Lockhart have a crush on his best student?” I asked teasing her after the boys had left. She blushed and we heard a scream.

“Go check it out,” She told me and I ran out to catch up with the boys. Myrtle’s bathroom was flooded.

“What happened?” I asked her.

She sniffled, “There I was just sitting and someone decided to throw a book at me.”

“It can’t hurt you can it?” Ron asked. I mentally facepalmed.

“Let’s throw books at Myrtle because she can’t feel it,” Myrtle began ranting.

“Myrtle they probably didn’t mean to hit you. Where’s the book?” I asked her. We found it.

“It’s a diary, T. M. Riddle,” I read the name.

Ron looked at me, “He went to school here fifty years ago. He got an award for special services to the school.”

“Are you sure? What’s his diary doing here now?” I said.

“I’m positive. That’s the award I threw up slugs on and had to clean.” Ron said.

“Huh,” I said. “We should talk to Hermione. You know she’ll get more out of this then we did.”

“She gets out of the hospital wing tomorrow, we’ll show her then,” Harry said. I nodded.

“Myrtle, do you mind if we keep the book?” I asked.

She smiled, “Of course not. Just don’t throw it at me.”

“Wouldn’t dream of it,” I said slowly. The diary was another mystery, another part of the puzzle.
