We were the last groups of girls to enter the church. Everyone was already seated by grade, looking like a pattern with their uniform colors and height. Many of them where whispering to each other quietly while they waited.
I sat down next to Sarah in the 11th grade bench, pulling down my skirt comfortably. The whole way here Nun Mary had angrily picked on me for ‘showing too much’ and not being a ‘proper lady’ but like always, I shrugged it off.
As the pastor was about to start the mass, the 12th grade boy with messy blonde hair in front of me, turned and winked.
“Hi Ethan” I said seductively.
Ethan smiled showing his straight white teeth. He winked once more before turning around.
The service went rather quickly than usual, so everyone was invited to the court yard for refreshments. Line by line the orphans left the church to the outdoors.
As we reached the courtyard, everyone was finally allowed to sit with whoever they wanted. Sarah and I spotted another group of girls and guys we knew, and headed their way.
“What crappy food do they have now?” I asked while taking my seat.
“Actually we get Oreo cookies” replied Janet, a 12th year girl who wasn’t the brightest crayon in the box, but her looks made up for it.
“Yay!” Sarah said sarcastically.
As I was talking to the group, I could feel someone staring at me. I looked around to see Ethan, one eyebrow raised staring at me from three tables away. I grinned the slightest bit. When he saw I was looking, he motioned me with this head to the barn.
I raised an eyebrow in surprise.
“Now?” I mouthed. He gave me a simple nod. That was our queue.
“Going to the bathroom, not that you care” I murmured while standing up and winking at Sarah. She rolled her eyes and sighed at my lie.
I took a slow pace to the bathroom stalls that stood next to the barn, I checked no one was watching and quickly turned around and entered the barn.
The first time I was ever here, I realized it was a great hiding spot. No one was ever in here because it was never really needed. Except I had a great use for it.
A minute later, someone appeared on the doors. It was Ethan, a crooked smile on his lips. As he slowly made his way over me, he studied me up and down.
When he was only inches away, I touched his stomach where his hard abs where and grinned. He placed his hand on the back of my head and pulled me close so our faces where only centimeters away.
“Oh, how I love Sundays” he said in his sexy tone of voice he always attemtped while he was around me. “the only time I get to spend some time with the prettiest girl in St. Thomas”. Before I could reply, his lips had already met mine. It was a small rhythm at first but once we got the hang of it, our lips moved in a faster pace. My hands always on his abs and he had one hand on my waist the other on my hair. This was our Sunday routine. We always found a place to escape to and make out. It was a time when I actually felt like a teenager and not a prisoner. Ethan was an excellent source for that. The first time we ever hid to kiss a year ago, we had promised each other that it was simple attraction and nothing else. I had also made him promise me it was only kissing. Call me hypocritical, but I wanted my first time to be with someone special.
After about 20 minutes of making out, we pulled away. The nuns would call everyone soon and the last thing we wanted was to be found.
I kissed him one last time on the lips and headed back to the courtyard first. I sat back down to the table, nobody noticing how long I had left, except for Sarah of course.
“How was it?” She asked, smoothing my hair.
“You know… hot” I replied. She giggled turning to the conversation the others where having. Just after I noticed Ethan had also returned to his seat, Nun Catherine, the headmaster of the Orphanage stood up to speak and immediately, everyone turned quiet.
