[PG-13] Parents Strongly Cautioned
The following Fan Fiction is one in a series of Fan fictions based on the Night World Series. It takes place directly after Thierry found Hanah, and summoned all of them to come together for the Circle Daybreak. The original characters from the series are all the work of L.J Smith and I take no credit for them.
DREAMER NIGHT WORLD FAN FIC Ever since Mellissa could remember she had these weird dreams. She had no idea where they came from. Sometimes they appeared so real, that she would wake up screaming. She went from foster parents to foster parents; no one could handle her outlandish 'behaviour'. She did not blame them; no one wanted a sixteen year old who still had night terrors. Only they were not just night terrors, they were worse. It was more like someone's memories being forced into her head. She had no way of controlling it. It came and went. Three days ago she freaked out in class. Her dreams had never found a way into her real life, but somehow she had drifted off in science class, and the next thing she knew she was scribbling this weird language on the black board, and saying the name; 'Hunter Redfurn' over and over again. Her newest foster family sent her to a shrink. The shrink did not have an answer, he just mumbled about how things that happen in the past, tragedies, sometimes left marks, and all that. Mellissa did not need him to tell her that. She had witnessed her parents being murdered in front of her, and it had messed her up. She did not see who had done it, all she knew was that whomever it was had been heartless. The night terrors had only gotten worse, and worse. The previous night she had found herself sweating in her own bed, clasping a pencil in her hand. What good a pencil would do against 'evil' forces she had no idea. Mellissa shivered at the memory of her last dream. Her dreams always edged on two sides, good versus evil, dark versus light. Sometimes in her dreams the lines were not clearly drawn, sometimes it was more grey. The previous night she had seen her death, as she had many times before. It was there that she saw the face of the man that scared her the most, Hunter Redfern. He had an inhumanely beautiful face. He had red hair, and golden eyes. Last night his eyes had shown blood red, while he had sunk his teeth into her neck. She was scared, but what could she do? She had dreamt it so many times, and every time when she tried to escape, he would capture her again. It all ended the same way, with her dying. She thought of her head as "Pandora's box", and if anyone was to open it fully it would shed chaos upon the world. She looked up at the bright lights of the Strip. This was the last lead she had to her dreams, Vegas. It was here where she had seen them meet. In one of her dreams she saw a girl come here, Hanah Snow. She saw her meet her 'soul mate'. Mellissa had no idea what she was doing here. They were just dreams after all. There was no such thing as the Night World, or Night People, and there was no secret battle between the good and evil. Yet she found herself walking through the streets trying to remember the details she had seen in her dreams. There had been a street bank, and there had been a stranger. She heard a strange whistling and felt pressure against her head. The pressure had been getting stronger and stronger lately. She looked at a window and saw her own reflection. She had long pitch black hair that fell down in curls towards her back. Her eyes shone a strong green. There were blue marks under her eyes, and her skin was pale. She looked at her neck and saw two tiny marks. The previous night had been more than a dream, somehow he had been there. Somehow her worst night mare had come true. She wished it had been a dream, but she still remembered his cold smile, and the unbearable pain as his fangs had sunk into her throat. She had troubling distinguishing between what was real and what was a dream. He had been there; she knew that, the marks proved it. But that would mean that everything else was real to. That Vampires existed, that werewolves were real, and witches, and that they all lived amongst humans in their secret society the Night World, and by knowing about it she was punishable to death by their laws. Even worse was that she knew more , she knew about what the Old ones had done, she knew that they were liars and that they had broken their own laws. She had to find the Circle Daybreak, they would help her. She did not know if they would believe her. Who would? How was this possible? She was a normal girl, she was not supposed to know these things, yet she did. She knew everything, about James and Poppy, about James' cousin Ash and his love, Mary-Lynette, or about Hunter's son, the one he had turned John Quinn and his love Raschel. Or about Maya, the original Vampire who had turned Thierry. How could she know all of this?
