Chapter One... I Come From An Eight Kid Family

I was a dreamer.

All I ever did was think about what I wanted after high school. And let's just say, not everybody agreed with my decisions.

My friends were all planning on what college they wanted to get into, discussing what sort of careers they wanted. Me on the other hand? I didn't even want to go to college. I wanted something far more valuable than a career.

I wanted a big family.

As for getting that, well I didn't know. Noah and I talked about it all the time, but that doesn't mean anything. We'd known each other for ten years, and been officially a couple since we were twelve. We didn't count the fact that we were together as kids, because our parents tended to frown when we say we've been together for nine years...

Noah came from a much smaller family than mine. He only had a younger brother, and a little sister the same age as my sister Addison, or Addy, as everyone knew her. She was a fifteen year old nuisance at the best of times, always stealing my clothes and shoes. Though I tend to borrow hers as well, when I wanted something new to wear.

But my family? Well, I was the eldest of eight children.

Six girls, two boys... a set of twins, a set of triplets. Yep. My parents were baby makers, alright. But after the twins, they didn't reproduce again. Not too sure why... maybe they figured that eight kids was definitely enough.

Coming from a big family taught me a lot about family closeness. The triplets were thirteen, and my only two brothers Zane and Ethan could be mischevious when they wanted to. They were identical in every way, and Lily, who was the third part of their little triad, looked more like me than the boys. Everybody thought the boys were twins, and that Lily was a year younger than them.

She looked it, too.

Emily I was closest with. She was only nine, and yes, half my age, but I'd been close with her from the day she was born. I can remember being lonely and feeling left out before she came along, because Zane and Ethan bonded like glue, and Addy and Lily played together. But Emily was the only one of my sisters who knew almost all of my secrets (of course, she was a little too young to hear some of them).
