Chapter 3
Cheer Captain

The final bell rang and everyone was running off to catch their rides home. I met Taylor and Bailey inside the girls loker room. We all talked about our day while we got dressed for cheerleading practise. When we were done we met the rest of the team down by the feild that we practise on. We all sat and stretched while we waited for our coach Michelle. She came down right after we finished stretching. She was walking with the football coaches, they were all talking about tryouts for there teams. The football tryouts were still going on. The coaches took forever to make their teams. I remember last year they didn't decide until the day before the first game. Michelle came over and started talking about this years competitions and other stuff.
"So thats about it." she said. "Oh wait I almost forgot we have to choose our team captain."
Lexi automatically stood up.
"I'll do it!" she pretty much yelled.
"Alright Lex but, we need to give the other girls a chance. So girls who else would like to be captain?"
Lexi turned around and glared at us. Everyone was scared of her so no one would ever dare to stand up. Except me! I stood up.
"Alright Hayden come on down!"
I walked by Lexi. She gave me the worst death stare I have ever gotten. Lex gave a short speech about why they should choose her. After she was done I got up. I was actually nervous because I was horrible at speech making.
"So um obviously I want to be your captain...um....so if you vote for me I will make sure im great and make it really funny." I finished with a smile. I heard a little chuckle from Lexi. I knew I made a fool of myself but it was worth a shot. Michelle passed out slips of papers to everyone. They wrote who they wanted as captain and gave it to Michelle. She counted the slips.
"Alright so our new captain is......Hayden!" I looked straight at Lexi she was glaring at me. I just smiled.
"Thanks everyone who voted for me. I promise this is gunna be a fun season!" I said excitedly. We started practise after that. After 2 hours of cheering, stunting, and tumbling I was exhausted. Me, Taylor, and Bailey walked down to the locker rooms to meet up with the guys. They were waiting there for us, Landon looked really.
"Hey baby!" I said giving him a big hug and kiss. "Guess what!"
"What?" he asked.
"I am the new cheer captain!"
"Wow babe good job!"
"Thank you! Whats wrong? You look so mad."
"Thats because I am!"
"Why?"
"Because that fricken new kid Brody is the new quarterback!"
"What? How?" I asked shocked.
"Ya im the line backer. The only way I can be quarterback is if something happens and that poor a** rat gets hurt!" he said with an angry tone.
I was really suprised. Ever since we were little kids every football team Landon has been on he was the quarter back. No one could compare to him. Well until now!
