Everyday seemed the same, but with a twist. You see, Brad never thought of it as nothing special. He actually enjoyed life at its fullest. Everyday being a routine: get up for school, go to the store afterschool, go home, eating dinner, doing homework and going to bed. As Brad was walking home, a strange, yet awkward old man was watching him on the park bench for a few days. Brad questioned him in his conscience as he was wearing a large, black trenchcoat with slacks and a fedora in 100 degree heat. And as he was...... staring... he hadn't talked to anyone and nobody really seemed to notice him. It was like he was there, but not there. He finally had the courage to confront him after several weeks. "Look man, if you got a problem just tell me instead of standing there like a creep.". As Brad said this, the old bizarre man just stood there looking, staring with his black pupiled eyed. When Brad realized he was going to get nowhere with this, he walked away furious. On winter break, Brad knew there was something wrong. Everyday, he would notice a few people vanishing from school grounds and never coming back. After alot of people had vanished; he now was scared out of his mind. Eventually, his family had been gone too and he only had his pets. Brad confronted the man again at the same bench and coincedintly the same weekday. "LISTEN TO ME YOU OLD HAG. MY LIFE HAS BEEN A LIVING HELL EVER SINCE I SEEN YOU. WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO-". "Nobody will notice....". Brad stood there, trembling with fear and tears in his eyes. He finally noticed who the old man was. The old man was the devil and had grinned a long smile. This smile was completely unordinary.... Teeth sharp as needles, but filthy looking. His wide grinned smile almost reaching ear to ear with blood dripping down the ends of his mouth. His eyes... OH HIS EYES ARE SO INHUMAN. No color..... just black. The man had no facial hair, looking completely like a mask. The old man finally broke the long silence with his raspy, low voice saying, "This whole world you see a reality is a pigment of your imagination. You've been living a life of lies and disbelief. Try to tell anyone... Nobody will believe you.". Brad didn't want to believe him. He ran HE RAN AS FAST AS HE COULD HOME. home was his sanctuary where he could stay away from reality. Of course, nobody was home and he sat there. He cried himself to sleep that night. As he woke this morning he heard the sizzle of food being cooked and faint chatter. He dashed Downstairs almost gliding going down. Sure enough his family was there a whole, happy, calm family. "Mom! Dad! Sis! You guys are here i cant..... believe this....". His Dad turned around and looked at him suspiciously. "What are you talking about Brad. We've all been here. Infact, we were never gone." Brad stood there; hands in his pockets fighting the tears behind his red eyes from crying last night. "YOU GUYS GOT TO BELIEVE ME I SEEN THE DEVIL YESTERDAY AND HE SAID YOU GUYS WONT BELIEVE ME IF I SAY YOU GUYS VANISHED!" His family turned around, all of them looking at him with questionable faces. His mom finally spoke up, "Listen Brad, We have been with you at this house yesterday and nobody i mean NOBODY had left. Do you understand me?". Brad simply looked up. "Yes.... Yes i do understand mom." and he left the house for school. It has been 20 years later and Brad is 36. He had never understood what happened that day, but everyday really didn't suprise him. He knew what was going on and couldn't do anything to stop it. Everyday was just.... another day.... after another.... after another...
