Kenya:
I decided to drop by Alex's since I was in the area. I knew him from my old Detroit gang days. I was the medic then, seeing as I was the only girl gang member in the area. I knocked on the door, and Damian answered. I nodded at him, he did the same. "Alex!" he called. "Come here and bring Raven!" Raven? I thought? Who was this chick? Alex came to the door, a girl behind him. His hair was shorter than when I last saw him, but that was all that had really changed. The girl, wow, was she unique. She reminded me of myself, but not. She was small, but looked tough. Her hair was black with a really cool blue-purple tint. Her eyes were violate, but didn't look like contacts. She was wearing a MCR hoodie and a pair of WWF pajama pants. Weird combination, I thought to myself. Alex invited me into the living room. I sat down on a chair, Raven and Alex on the small couch. I love sofa I think its called, what ever. "Hey, I'm Kenya. I know Alex from a while back. I saved his life, actually." I said, as means of an introduction. "And you are Raven?" I asked. "She nodded. "How did you save his life?" she asked, leaning in closer. She still looked cautious, but that was understandable. I was a new girl, and a hardcore one at that. I smiled at the thought. Raven: Wow, that Kenya girl is hardcore, I thought to myself. We were in the living room, sitting and chatting. Kenya said she had saved Alex. What was up with that? Kenya started her story. "I was staying near Detroit, sometimes in Detroit. I was in a gang, but was the only girl. They made me the medic, one because they didn't want a girl to fight, and two because I was good- unnaturally good- at healing. One day, it was a Wednesday to be exact; there was a huge gang fight- the biggest in Detroit's history. It was the middle of winter, and as you would know, it snows a lot in Detroit. There was about two and a half feet of snow on the ground. I was chilling in a park after dark, when I herd shots. I ignored them, figuring it wasn't a big deal. Wow was I wrong. I heard a scream, and them more. There were more shots, and an abandoned building burst into flames. I ran out of the park, to the building. That was where most of my gang stayed, and they had all been there when I left. I ran into the building, hoping to save someone, anyone. I heard more shots, behind me this time. I felt a searing pain in my ankle. A bullet had grazed my left ankle." She pulled up her pants leg to show me the scar. It was an ugly purple mark on her ankle. "I ignored it, knowing I had to find and help people. Everyone I found was dead, or didn't need help, so I left the building. My hair was singed and burned, along with my clothes. Shots were going off like crazy now. Someone ran into me. I wheeled around, and saw a boy. He was only about 13, no older. His shoulder had been shot, and was spurting blood. He wasn't crying, which surprised me. I took his hand as more shots went off, and ran. I didn't need either of us getting more injured. We ended up at my hideout at the park. I made him take off his shirt. His shot wound was much worse than I had imagined. I broke into a local hospital to get supplies. I snuck in, and then pretended to be a doctor. I grabbed all the medical equipment I could shove in my pockets. I got back to the park, and started helping Alex. First I had to clean out the cut, and it was bad. I actually had to pull part of the bullet out of his shoulder. You see, it had hit something, broken, and then the fragment of it hit his shoulder. I had to bandage it, and make sure he was okay for quite a few days. He decided to leave the gang scene, and came here. He was originally from here in the first place, but ran away to escape the pressure." Her story was done, and she leaned back in the chair. It was as if a spell had been broken. I was amazed that she, and Alex, had lived through that.
