Chapter 2: Every time there is an awkward silence a gay baby is born.

James stopped talking just a moment ago. Eli was shocked. James was asking a million questions earlier and what was odd is he didn't really question Eli or Carrie about where they were going only about his injuries and how long he had been unconscious for.

That raised a red flag in Eli's opinion. It really bothered him, James'  innocence that is.

He was feared, FEARED, at Eli's school. Rumors say he is a high class drug lord with a demon inside him. Others say he is the demon and works for the devil himself. Although Eli believed none of it, his curiosity really got the better of him sometimes.

"So do you just hop in cars with strangers for fun?" His voice held a glint of dark humor. James shrugged. "Your a pipsqueak so I think I can take you if ya tried anything that is."

Eli didn't comment.

"Hey James, is it true your a druglord?" Carrie asked from the driver's seat. Eli's jaw dropped.

Not five minutes into the car drive and Carrie's being an idiot. Leave it to her to be completely dense to the fact that this VERY TONED hot slab man meat, okay ignore the fact that I just thought that, could kill us both WHILE laughing sadistically.

Eli's thoughts seemed to be all over the place today.

James just narrowed his eyes for a moment, then burst out laughing.

"Bwahhaha! You serious? Like hell I would be..." He chuckled some more, before the silence was back...with awkwardness.

"So short stuff where are we going?" Eli's eyebrow twitched at the short comment. But he ignored it and answered.

"You'll see soon enough." Why can't he just wait...Damn impatient bastard.

.

"Hey dumbasses were here," Carrie spoke from the review mirror. James' curiosity piqued. He quickly looked at the window, careful with his injuries.

Big bold red letters, Hammock Porter Hospital...

Hospital...

Oh.

Hell.

No.

Eli was to say somewhat...pissed off. He was currently trying to drag the on-the-verge-of-a-panic-attack James, in the damn hospital. To say the least it was a daunting task...One Eli did not want.

"C'mon you idiot!" He said, his voice sounding like an angry kitten.

"NO!!...Look didn't you fix me up?! I'M FINE! WHY DO I HAVE TO GO IN THERE!?" screamed James. Eli sighed. Damn immature idiot.

"I want you to get looked after by a professional dumbass!" He said with a tug. James' eyes flashed with shock for a second. The bastard's worried about me?, he thought.

Eli cocked an eyebrow as James let out a sigh and slowly let go of the door handle he was holding on too. He turned around and met Eli's stare. Confusion reflected with slight fear and overwhelming determination.

It slowly turned into a staring contest.

"OI BASTARDS!! QUIT LOLIGAGGING WE GOT STUFF TO DO!"

They broke eye contact and quickly swiveled their heads to the main hospital entrance. Carrie waved for them to hurry up.

"Let's go" Eli said jogging to catch up to Carrie.

James shook his head and jogged after Eli yelling "You ain't the boss of me, bastard!"

They stood in the hospital. Everyone silent in the pure white room, almost blinding in Eli's opinion.

James laid on the bed. Eyes flicking from left to right. He tried to make it seem like he wasn't studying Eli...But he was.

He sat in the chair by his bed. James studied him as he flicked his head to get some chestnut brown hair out of his eyes. His sharp face and cold demeanor.

That way when James could see his eyes, he just saw endless green. Like a mysterious forest with no clear paths . It contrasted (almost pleasantly, he thought) with the flecks of light blue also there. Though those eyes held such a sharp intensity, an alertness, and worry, it seemed he'd been through a lot and to him it was as if it would never end.

James frowned. He knew that face, James had worn that face almost everyday of his life.

Eli shifted slightly and could feel his sleeves slip up, he quickly pulled them down. Covering his hands in his sleeves. He could feel James' eyes practically burning holes through him. It made Eli uncomfortable.

At this particular moment in time there was an awkward silence. A certain redhead looked between the boy in the bed and the other one in the chair beside the wall, and well truly an odd thought came to her.

Every time there is an awkward silence a gay baby is born....

Carrie rolled her eyes at the absurdity of Eli and James' silence. She spoke to shatter it

"Look kiddies, Carrie is starving, so do any of you want anything from the cafeteria?" Eli and James both shook their heads. The red head scoffed. "Damn stubborn pricks," she murmured as she left the room.

Awkward silence soon followed and it was stifling to Eli.

"Its fine idiot. The doctor said you'll be released tomorrow," He tried to make his voice light and condescending.

James furrowed his eyebrows and said "I'm staying o-overnight?" He sat up and crossed his legs on the bed, head bent down. James sincerely hoped Eli hadn't heard the stutter.

Of course Eli had.

"Look you'll be fine....I kinda have to go home...I."

A slight shudder ran down Eli's back.

"Oh...O-Oh okay" James' voice shook but Eli didn't even seem to register he had spoken.

The silence was astounding.

Eli just shook his head and turned around as he was about to walk out the doorway. He looked over his shoulder as he spoke.

"Carrie's here and she has all the bills covered. You-" Eli quickly turned his head back so James wouldn't notice the pink blush across his cheeks. "You just think about getting better."

He fled the hospital leaving a wide- eyed James confused and albeit a little more worried. What was that shudder about?

(An) Well here we are chapter 2... Not really a cliffie.. But something is waiting just around the corner.....
