"Mask"

The warm breeze gently caresses my skin as it fills my lungs with fresh, clean air. I take a deep breathe and slowly close my eyes. I let the darkness take over me, worsen my pain, release my forgotten tears.
I let this mask overule me, saying goodbye to my lost soul within. It shadows my fears, replacing them with new ones. It circulates my emotions, picks it's favourite one.
And repeats.
And repeats.
And repeats.
Confusion boils in my blood and flesh behind this mask and now I'm begging it to leave.
Sorrow turns to agony.
Joyous beliefs turn disastrous.
I'm dancing with this mask, treating it like a toy.
And it's only for a little while.
And a little while.
And a little while.
And a little while.
And I have only just realised this mask won't leave without a cost.. a price to pay.
Trapped inside now, release me.
