I stood watching you laugh. Bang. That stopped all noise seeping out of that filthy mouth of yours; the despicable creature that you’ve become and yet I brought the façade. All this time I’d been taking your lies for truth; I thought you loved me.

Oh how wrong was I? I’d let you into my world, thought you’d understand and want to help, yet the person who I believed to be the one I could trust with my life, had been the one who had sold me out before I could even blink. Well here’s my revenge… oh yes my sweet revenge.

How stupid I had been to believe that someone could understand the hardships I’d gone through; all the torture and pain. You helped them. You worked for them! And yet I let my walls down completely, allowing you back into my life.

Yes father. Your death was something that should have happened a long time ago. I’ve finally beat you at your own stupid game, I should feel victorious, correct? Then why am I allowing myself to cry over your lifeless form? You were never there when I was a child and so when you appeared at my door I’d completely forgave you for leaving me and believed your story that you were fighting in the war; I’d let you in, fed you, clothed you. Kept a roof over your head! Only for you to repay me in such a dishonourable way.

You weren’t lying about the war. No. In fact that was true; you had been fighting. And now your own daughter is off to finish what you started, you may have been working for the enemy father but I know that you’re death is only the beginning. More will come for me.

So I must be prepared to fight back and keep this secret until my dying breath. As you should have but you were lazy and I found out what you truly were. What you were turning me into too.

Yet father you were stupid to leave the evidence lying around. You were stupid to visit your daughter. You shall be the downfall of your entire life’s work. As for me, I will go to the ends of the Earth to put a stop to all this… this madness! Why would you do this? Create such a thing for your own personal gain. Immortality is something that comes at a price. To live of another human being as they slowly rot away is sick. Still, you laughed when I rejected this ‘gift’ as you called it, I turned it down flat as I let the bullet penetrated your skull. And as I walked away I swore that I would keep this curse from taking mankind to its downfall.

You see to be a vampire is not a gift. It is a curse. For if humanity was to become aware they would not run in fear if they knew they to could become one. No. They would embrace it with open arms as the thought of living forever consumed them. But they will have not stopped to think that what happens when humanity is taken over by vampirism; no, the thought of all that is keeping them living gone hasn’t even crossed their minds. Because if the human race was to die out, they’d have a big problem. Eternity is a long time before you’d be free from the madness of thirst consuming you.

This is not why I turned down the offer. No. Madness does not scare me one bit, I’ve spent most of my life surrounded by it but the thought that mankind would be so selfish and idiotic to destroy itself, fuels my desire to kill these beast in human forms.

They are not beautiful, like they are portrayed in films. They are not creatures that want to feel love. They do not want peace and harmony between two races. No. They want blood and they won’t stop until they drain every last drop from your body and leave you to meet your maker.

So my goal is to now stop these bloodsucking parasites in their tracks before we all wake up one day and realise that the nightmares are real.

And we’re all in the firing line.
