Hannah woke me from my deep sleep by jumping on the bed, screaming about Jake Hammond and a contest; I didn’t really understand most of it.
“Hannah, calm down, what happened?” I asked, sitting up slowly.
“We won! The contest to spend time with Jake Hammond, we won, we won!” she smiled.
“Whoopi-freaking-doo” I muttered.
“I picked out what you’re going to wear, go put it on and I’m going to do your hair! The limo will be here in an hour or so and we need to be ready.”
I groaned and slid off the bed. Sure enough there was an outfit laid out on a chair and shoes beside it. I pulled on the tight black skinny jeans with rips up the legs and pulled the cropped green tee over my head, it stopped at my ribcage. I slipped on the black vest on and buttoned the bottom, stopping when all the skin was covered. I walked into the bathroom and sat on the counter sulking as Hannah straightened my hair and started applying makeup to my face. When she had finished I looked at myself in shock, I looked, hot! I never expected that, I immediately felt self-conscious, tugging at my shirt and tucking my hair behind my ears.
“Would you relax, you look amazing! Just try not to fall and embarrass yourself.” Hannah joked, handing me my shoes, well boots. I slid my feet into the shiny black deathtraps that Hannah had picked out. They were only three of four inches but I had a hard enough time walking without heels. I zipped up the sides and grabbed by black wallet, stuffing it in the purse Hannah loaned me and walked out to meet her at the door. We linked arms and walked into the elevator, riding down to the lobby and waving at Andrew as we stepped out into the warm LA air, a black limo pulled up in front of up and the driver ran to open the door holding it as we slid inside and closing it gently behind Hannah.
“If I fall it’s your fault. You know I’m a klutz, why did you put me in heels?” I whined, pouting like a five year old.
“Because you look hot in heels, now no more complaining, if you make it the next five hours without complaining I’ll buy you anything you want.” Hannah promised.
“Fine.” I huffed. I vowed not to talk for the next five hours, I knew the moment I opened my mouth I’d complain, so I just needed to keep my mouth shut.
When the limo stopped and the door opened I followed Hannah into a large stadium, she made a beeline for the bouncer, flashing her pass and he let us past, into the VIP backstage area.
“Now, sit down and don’t move. I’m going to try and find the washroom.” Hannah commanded pointing at a large red couch and walking off in the opposite direction; I sighed and carefully made my way over to the couch. I almost made it when I crashed into something hard, losing my footing thanks to the stupid heels I fell backwards, my head hitting the floor with a soft thud and I blacked out.
My eyes snapped open and I found myself staring at the roof of a limo.
“Oh good, you awake, I was super worried about you Chloe!” Hannah shouted, hugging me tightly.
“Ow, what happened, what about the concert?” I asked, rubbing my forehead.
“It’s over, and it’s my fault. I’m sorry, are you alright?” a new voice asked.
I looked over and noticed that my head was on someone’s lap; I looked at the face and groaned.
“What’s wrong, are you ok?” he asked.
“No I’m not ok! My head is killing me, I got dressed up for nothing and my head is on Jake Hammonds lap!” I muttered, glaring at Hannah. I attempted to sit up but a wave of dizziness clouded my thoughts and I stopped. “You better sleep with one eye open Miss. Wright.”
“We’re almost back at the hotel, thanks again for the help Jake.” Hannah smiled, putting a hand over my mouth.
“It’s no problem, I feel awful for what happened. Plus I needed to come this way anyway, the contest winners are staying at this hotel.”
“Actually, we are the contest winners.” Hannah smiled again, pulling her hand away.
“No, no, no, no, no! You and Ash can be the winners, I want nothing to do with JFH!” I shouted, wincing as the sound hurt my head.
“JFH?” Jake asked.
“Jake Freaking Hammond.” I spat before Hannah could cover my mouth again.
“What, you don’t like me or something?” he asked, looking at me strangely.
I just shrugged and rolled my eyes. The door opened and Hannah slipped out, pulling my hand to help my stand and started pulling me to the doors. A wave of nausea washed over me and I froze, rocking back on my heels as I got tunnel vision. Two hands on my waist steadied me and I relaxed slightly, focusing on breathing. When I showed no sign of moving the hands moved to pick me up bridal style and carry me into the hotel. I glared up at Jake and he smirked, following Hannah closely into the elevator and into the penthouse.
